In it's most basis terms, the Firechain Defense System is a tachayon defense grid set up around the station.

It is a network buoys that orbit Katra.  A tachayon beam links each bouy.  If a ship or object passed threw the beam, an alter is sent to Ops.

As such, this is an early detection system for the Katra that is solar powered by the Trialus sun.  Finally, each buoy is armed with 20 micro-torpedoes to help ensure no enemy get's by.  Not even cloaked ships.


Species:  Betazoid/Vulcan.
