Backstory: Year 2380 (6 years old)

"You jus' going to watch, boy?" His uncle grumbled as he lugged a new haul into the cargo bay. He grunted as he set the black storage box down with a clang onto the growing pile. "Get down 'ere."

Caught again. Georgi briefly considered making up an excuse, but he had none. Zilch.

He sighed and hopped down from the catwalk, slipping his deck of cards into his pocket. "I was coming to help..." In reality, if no one asked and he could get away with it, he'd have kicked his feet up and watched the entire ordeal, even if he'd never admit to it. Not unless he wanted another slap to the back of the head.

Didn't take him long to figure out the consequences of slacking. He was a quick learner if nothing else. Unless he wanted to piss his father off, he knew he couldn't stay cooped up in his bunk lest he get in trouble for skipping out. Again. All thanks to his stupid brother. Damn rat.

"Besides, I was supervising." Georgi added cheekily. He knew his uncle had a soft spot for him. He was never really mad at him. At least not for long.

His uncle smirked and ruffled Georgi's hair. "You got to be pitchin' in too. You ain't no baby no more."

"Mhm." He looked over the tactical gear boxes with curiosity. He wondered what kind of goods they got this time. "What did we...find...this time 'round?"

His uncle rapped his knuckles against the crate. "Phasers. Laser guns. Mines. You name it. Good quality too from the looks of it. Starfleet grade."

Georgi suppressed a smile. He wondered if he'd get a chance to see those grand ships. He would bet the crew that got to use these were top notch. Trained to fight and armed to the teeth. Maybe one day he'd see one for real.

"Yaroslav-! We ain't done yet. Keep it moving." Another crew member yelled across the cargo bay and motioned his uncle over.

"I got it, I got it." His uncle called back, and wiped the sweat off his face with the sleeve of his jacket. "Come on, kid. Back to it. Work first. Play later."
