Character Details

Character Age: 27
Character DOB: January 21st
Character Image: Link
Character Species: Andorian

As well as a narratively convenient sized clan in the upper echelons of the Andorian military. ;)

Character Bio: Black sheep of a prestigious Andorian military familiy, Trix is the uncharacteristically academic one. Forced by a childhood illness that still requires constant medical attention to manage, he began to study Xenosociology and xenojurisprudence (the latter is where he holds a doctorate), focussing on how laws shape societies and vice versa. He was basically sent off to Starfleet as a convenient way to avoid a scandal for his clan. Trix has no patience for the Andorian honor code and considers violence and uncouth solution. He looks sickly and weak but seems to always be always smirking at a joke the rest of the universe is still catching onto. His interest lies in justice, not adherence to rules. He is a bit of a romantic about the ideals of Starfleet - for now. He is also adept at piloting (though not properly trained). I have a longer text/bio prepared that I can post underneath.

The bar on Sigma V Station in the Melar system wasn't just any watering hole. For Trik'Nar "Trix" Ch'Rehllan, it was the place. Tucked away from the station's more boisterous venues, The Golden Acquisitor was a premiere source of Andorian spice tea, which Trix had declared the best in at least ten light-years.
On this particular evening, Trix was seated in his usual spot—a cozy corner table under a flickering neon sign advertising "Honest Deals, Honest Drinks." His disheveled hair caught the light as he flipped through an annotated treatise on Romulan criminal prosecution ethics. The tea sat steaming at his elbow, perfect in temperature and aroma. Life, for the moment, was tolerable.

Until it wasn't.

A commotion broke out at the bar, punctuated by the unmistakable deep rumble of a Klingon's voice.
"You dare insult me, Ferengi?" the warrior – looming, even by Klingon standards – growled, grabbing the diminutive bartender, Kreg, by the collar. His d'k tahg gleamed menacingly as his other hand shoved a table aside, nearly toppling a nearby patron.

Additional information: I have a background in law, but I'm not looking for 'Judge Judy in Space', rather it's about unconventional solutions. As for SIMM, I guess Discovery fits the ticket best.

How did you find Shadow Fleet?: Recommendation from a co-worker (I have no idea who he is on here)

Andorian || Male (He/Him) || Age: 27 || Height: 175cm (5'9") ||  Trix's Bio

TrikNarChRehllan

The longer post I promised / threatened above:

Name: Dr. Trik'Nar ,,Trix" Ch'Rehllan
(Nickname derived from his given name "Trik'Nar," which was frequently shortened by his peers as "Trix" due to his mischievous personality.)
Species: Andorian
Gender: Male
Age: 27

Appearance:
Trix is of average height for an Andorian, standing at about 5'9" (175 cm), with the characteristic blue skin and a set of antennae that give him an unmistakable Andorian look. His antennae are often in subtle motion, reflecting his moods, especially when he's deep in thought or testing an idea. Despite his young age, he is slightly frail and thin, often appearing somewhat sickly. His slight, fragile build is due to the lasting effects of a childhood illness — a severe case of Andorian fever, which left him bedridden for a long period of time. Though he recovered, his body remains physically weak, requiring regular medical attention to manage his condition.
There's a slight paleness to his skin, especially around his jawline and under his eyes, giving him a somewhat gaunt, scholarly appearance. His hands are long and nimble, often used in active gesticulation to underline his arguments. Trix's white hair is cut short, but often appears messy, as if it hasn't seen a comb in days. His uniform is loose-fitting, somewhat too large for his slight frame, a conscious choice that emphasizes his discomfort with the standard military precision of Starfleet. There's a quiet nonchalance in the way he carries himself, a stark contrast to the more martial-minded Andorian warriors he was raised around.
There is often a faint smirk on his lips, as if he's always considering some humorous point or internal joke that the rest of the universe is still catching onto. His eyes, a piercing ice-blue, are sharp and observant, often scanning those around him as he evaluates not just what they say, but why they say it.

Background:
Trix hails from a prominent Andorian family with a long and proud tradition of martial prowess and military service, specifically in the Andorian Imperial Guard. His parents, all four respected warriors, had always assumed Trix would follow the path of his ancestors, drilling into him the Andorian code of honor (the Ushaan) and the importance of martial prowess. However, Trix's trajectory in life took a sharp turn when he contracted a severe case of the Andorian Fever that required strict isolation and left him bedridden for nearly a year.
While he recovered, physically weak but mentally free to explore his own interests, Trix found solace in books — specifically those that examined the social structures of different species and how their legal systems functioned. His fascination with law wasn't based on a desire for power or control; rather, he became captivated by the idea of justice as a fluid, evolving force that could bring fairness to the galaxy at large. As justice became Trix's guiding principle, he started to reject the notion of honor — the concept so central to Andorian culture.
This unorthodox attitude made Trix the black sheep in his family. He was sent to Starfleet Academy because his family considered this career choice to be a "diplomatic" way to avoid public embarrassment — not out of any true belief in his ability to contribute to Starfleet's mission. His parents sent him off with the expectation that he would "fail, come to his senses and return home."
At Starfleet Academy, he focused on xenosociology (the study of alien societies) and xenojurisprudence (the legal frameworks that govern them). Trix wasn't interested in the rigidity of laws for their own sake; he believed that laws should serve the greater cause of justice, even if it meant bending them. His doctoral thesis ,,Inter species Relations and Concept of Morality: When right is wrong", sparked much debate among his peers and professors.
His unique perspective on justice — one that often involves subverting traditional laws to ensure fairness — has earned him a reputation both as a brilliant mind and a troublemaker. He's not interested in blindly following laws or regulations, but in ensuring that the spirit of justice is upheld, even if the rules would suggest a different outcome.

Personality:
Trix's personality is a blend of dry wit, sharp intellect, and irreverence. He is deeply passionate about justice, and he sees the galaxy's many legal systems as mere tools — some outdated, others misused. He's a firm believer that laws should serve a greater good, and he has no patience for anyone who follows regulations or traditions without question. His rebellious streak isn't born out of malice, but from a deep desire to ensure that fairness and justice prevail — even if it means subverting the rules.
His eloquence can be both captivating and insufferable. Trix is well-spoken and knows how to use his words to win arguments, often reducing his opponents to silence with a blend of logic and sarcasm. To his friends, this is often amusing, but to his superiors, it can be an exasperating challenge. He approaches every situation with a keen analytical mind, dissecting problems into their constituent parts to understand the underlying principles at play. This often leads him to question the status quo and challenge assumptions.
Though he's not a social butterfly, Trix is still sociable and enjoys discussing philosophical concepts, legal theory, and diplomatic solutions. While he is not one for frequent small-talk, he loves discussing moral quandaries with those who can keep up with his logical leaps and rapid fire arguments. Despite his seemingly aloof nature, he is fiercly loyal to his shipmates. While he may not be the first to jump into a physical altercation, he will not hesitate to defend his beliefs or those he cares about with the full weight of his legal acumen.
Trix finds the Andorian concept of honor to be, in his words, "an abstract and tedious set of ideals that make for great posturing but poor problem-solving." It is his conviction that justice is far more important than honor. As a consequence, it is nearly impossible to insult or upset him. Mistreatment, at best, will find the offending party at the wrong end of a quip – and at worst, a seemingly unending lecture about why the intended insult actually is nothing of the sort.
He finds it difficult to respect those who rely on force as a solution to problems, seeing resorting to violence as a failure of reason and an implied admission of being in the wrong. This belief, at times, puts him at odds with more martial-minded officers or those who view his "idealism" as naïve. He  understands that absolute pacifism is impossible in a galaxy wrought with danger, but, given the opportunity, he will always prefer talking to fighting.
One of his most distinctive traits is his habit of tapping his antennae together when in deep contemplation. This unconscious gesture is a sign of his mind working through a particularly complex idea, and it's often a tell that Trix is sifting through multiple perspectives in his head.

Piloting:
Trix's abilities as a small craft pilot came as something of a surprise to himself. Initially, he had no intention of pursuing piloting, but after being assigned to a small craft for a mission, he found himself deeply enjoying the freedom and mental clarity that came with flying.
Despite his lack of physicality, Trix has developed a surprising aptitude for controlling small crafts, especially in situations other pilots actively avoid - such as dodging asteroids or mines. He finds the reflexive decision-making required for piloting to be oddly relaxing, offering him a break from the theoretical intensity of his usual work. However, his lack of interest in formation flying is well-known. Trix sees the precision and coordination required for formation flying as an unnecessary exercise in group think. He finds himself far more at home flying solo, where his unorthodox style allows for more flexibility.
Some say that when piloting, Trix treats the laws of physics and the limitations of his craft like a Klingon treats Vulcan table manners.

Off-Duty Behavior:
Trix's spare time is often spent delving into the sociology of alien cultures and the legal systems that have shaped their societies. He has an extensive collection of historical legal documents, and he often spends his downtime reading and analyzing ancient treaties, case law, and social contracts from across the galaxy. For Trix, understanding a culture's legal history is the key to understanding its values, and he is always looking for patterns in how societies form, evolve, and maintain balance through laws.
Trix also enjoys watching holodeck re-enactments of famous historical trials — not for the spectacle, but for the legal arguments and how they shaped society. Whether it's the trial of a tyrant, a high-profile peace negotiation, or a landmark case of civil rights, he finds these historical moments to be both educational and morally engaging. He often runs simulations of historic legal cases, putting himself in the role of the prosecutor or defense attorney (usually the historically losing side), to see if he can come up with a better argument.

Notable Quirks:
• Trix is always carrying around a PADD (Personal Access Display Device) filled with legal texts, historical treaties, and ongoing diplomatic matters. He frequently references them, sometimes quoting entire passages, much to the confusion of his crew mates.
• He's obsessed with board games, especially strategy games like Chula or Kal-toh to unwind. His penchant for bending the rules often spills over into these games, as he makes absurd, convoluted moves that drive his opponents crazy.
• Frequently "plays devil's advocate" in conversations, but is rarely clear whether he does this out of his own conviction or just to test his fellow officers' commitment to their beliefs. Either way, it often sparks spirited discussion.
• When engaged in a mental challenge or in deep thought, Trix tends to subconsciously tap his antennae together. Those aware of the quirk know better than to disturb Trix at such moments.
