Lennox Ainsley

[Deck 14 - Firing range]

Lennox had been recently transferred to the USS Discovery, his first course of action was to get along with those that he had been transferred with and those that he needed to get along with for the ship to continue to sail smoothly through space. But, there was something that interested him more, located on deck 14 and it was the firing range.

He was not someone who particularly wanted to end up having to shoot to kill but there had been a significant part of his life where it had been deemed necessary for the safety of mankind and those aliens who were not entirely hostile with their race. Today was the day he was going to start his crew phaser competency test. Lennox lined several of them up on the firing range, one already disassembled, needing to check that they were very much in working order.

It was the fact that he needed to be in the know of how the phasers worked, how they operated and what would have to be done if it had gone south. An hour had passed since his last visual sweep of the weapon lockers, he needed to test them out.

Lennox began reassembling the phaser, checking it over several times to make sure it had been properly reassembled before aiming it at the target, putting first pressure on the trigger before firing.

Everything seemed to be doing alright.

James looked at his PADD as he looked at the additional assignments given to him by Engineering.  One of his duties today was to check the locks for the weapons in the firing range and armory.  He entered the firing range and noticed an individual working on a weapon.   He did not recognize the individual.

"I apologize for intruding...if you working on something I can come back later"  James inquired.

Lennox heard the voice, putting the weapon down in a safe manner before turning around to see a figure standing there with a PADD. He had yet to meet everyone on the Discovery, so he had a feeling they had not met before. But he could tell from the way the man stood and the uniform, that the man before him was an officer.

"I was jus' merely testin' the weapons, seein' if they're all up te scratch," Lennox extended his hand with a small lopsided smile. "Crewman Lennox Ainsley, sir."
