At Nira's readiness, Torra activated the hypospray injecting the medication.  "There. Done."

Torra set the hypospray unit aside on a tray table and turned back to her patient after a quick glance to the medical tricorder readings.  "Alright with that taken care of, everything else reads in the normal range. Before I call this examination complete and have the doctor sign off of your 'Fit for Work' paperwork is there anything you might have concerns about or feel the need to inform the medical staff about in anticipation of any future medical needs?"

Her question was intended to give the Lieutenant an opportunity to bring up anything that she might want to talk about -  be it her telepathy, a request for a counseling referral, or a change to her prophylactic choices.  Anything.

"No, I don't think so," said Nira, itching to get to work with compiling the faces. "However...is there anybody aboard this ship who could have potentially adverse reactions to telepathy?"

The incident with Volinna still rung in her head, and taught her something she had learned the hard way: people can be particularly sensitive to telepathy, and sometimes that sensitivity can potentially have an adverse reaction. Not to mention that she was going to be extremely careful and needed to know if anybody around the ship didn't like people getting in their heads.

When the Lieutenant indicated that no she had nothing she wished to discussion, Torra nodded and was about to turn away to have Dr. Sluchaynyy sign off on the medical.  But the Betazoid wasn't quite as done as she initially led on.  She did have a question.  Though it was one that Torra wasn't certain how to answer.

"Adverse reaction?  I'm not certain I understand your question.  Do you mean medically have a physical sensitivity to telepathy and not just feel uncomfortable about having someone in their minds?  I've never heard of anyone having such a medical condition like that but I can do a bit of research on the subject and get back to you.  In the meantime, I would recommend prior to initiating any sort of telepathic contact with others that you check to be sure they are okay with it.  I'm certain if their species is sensitive they will mention it."

"Yes, that's what I meant," said Nira. "Physical sensitivity to telepathy, not just feeling discomfort at having someone in their heads. It happened with an Orion. Seems Orions are sensitive to telepathy, a fact I learned the hard way.

"And, yes, I do intend to ask permission before using my telepathy," said Nira, determined than ever on that part. "Even if there are any urgent situations where we can't give away any strategic information, I will definitely ask permission first."

Thinking for a moment if she missed anything, Nira then said, "Other than that, there's nothing else to address."

Torra tilted her head slightly and glanced back towards Dr. Sluchaynyy quizzically.  The elderly Russian gave a slight negative shake of his head to which Torra gave a slight nod, before turning back towards the Lieutenant.

"Well, that we will be sure to keep that in mind but a sensitivity like that is certainly not common for the Orion species.  And at current time Discovery doesn't have any Orion crewmembers so you should be good."

The petty officer was pleased to hear that Said was very conscientious of seeking permission first.  She smiled.

Then the examination came to close.  "Very well then. You are cleared for duty." She turned back towards the doctor once more. "Dr. Sluchaynyy, if you would please will sign off of the form and forward along to the Commander."

Torra then dipped her head towards the Betazoid. "Thank you for being my patient today. I hope to see you again.. outside of Sickbay, I am always happy to learn more of those in my ship's upsol.  Oh, and please remember your appointment for tomorrow at noon for your next antibiotic shot." She reminded helpfully.

Nira nodded. "That's good to know," she said. "About there not being Orions on the ship. And I look forward to the noon injections."

With that, she departed.

Along the way, Nira replicated a PADD and went to work compiling the faces she remembered having Jamaharon with. By the time she got back to her quarters, she had compiled the faces almost two dozen people, twenty at most, some of them Orions, some of them women, but the rest being Risian.

Nira realized she didn't get the name of the doctor who examined her. Remember her face, Nira then pulled up personnel files and found her: Petty Officer Second Class Danjar Torra-Addams. Grazerite. Nira had to blink in surprise. She knew Grazerites were among members of the Federation, like Bolians and Benzenites, among others, but she was surprised at the horns. Most Grazerites had a lot smaller horns, but Torra-Addams clearly represented a variant of Grazerites with bigger horns.

And she wondered about the name, Torra-Addams. Was she married to a human, Nira thought to herself.

She shook her head and prepared to transmit the faces to Sickbay. Then she pressed her comm badge.

"Said to Doctor Torra-Addams," she said. "I have the faces to provide to Sickbay for them to transmit to the medical authorities on Risa. I'm transmitting them to you now."

With that, she transmitted the faces to Sickbay.

After Nira had left, Dr. Sluchaynyy insisted that it be Torra who contacted the Risian Medical Authority, so Torra spent the next several minutes in conversation with various administrators and medical health assistants trying to speak to one of the Medical Health Official on the Risian homeworld, to explain about the situation.  She had just been put on hold, waiting for the next person to speak to when the Lieutenant called about the faces.

Torra muted her video call and tapped her comm badge.  =/\= "Thank you Lieutenant Said.  That is perfect timing I believe, I'm currently on hold with the Director of Risian Health and Wellness.  I will forward those on."  =/\=
