The bartender raised an eyebrow at Jettis and then looked at her for answers, or perhaps, a question. We really doing this again?

"Not a word," Kali warned the bartender, sitting down. "But I'm surprised, new guy," she teased, flashing her pearly whites at Jettis. "Andorian ale? I thought we were going hardcore. Add two shots of Dresci while you're add it, Roland. I wanna at least chase a kick after." The bartender had to bypass the counter entirely for the good stuff on the rack and he spared no amount of eye-rolling doing it. She was just glad he didn't mention the bar tab this time.

He slid the bottles down, but struggled to pop the cork on the Dresci. Kali did him a favor and reached over the counter for the shot glasses. "To your downfall," she said in toast to the ale.

Jettis Jyur

"What can I say? I like something that goes down smooth, before I completely numb my taste buds and destroy my kidney. Needs to be some enjoyment, right? that wasn't even a lie to desperately save face. He was indeed one for soft, smooth  runs and flavourful wines before he started drinking enough to put out a Tarcassian razorbeast.

Picking up the glass offered, he raised it slightly. "To impending self loathing." he toasted instead, glancing over at the Bartender struggling with the cork. "I know you're the bartender and all, but shouldn't you wait until off duty to drink?" he raised a questioning brow, before grabbing his bottle and taking a good swig.

"What about you?" He turned his attention back to Kali. "Favourite drinks types of drinks? Pleasure drinks, 'I don't care what this is just get me drunk' drinks?" He ticked them off on his fingers as he went.

Kali Reyes

"Oh, you're the classy kind of drunk. I can respect that," she continued to tease. She let the ale sit on her tongue for a moment - a trick she learned from a space monk with zero idea of personal space - and let the heat of her mouth chase the Andorian chill down her throat.

Roland scowled at Jettis once the cork finally popped. "Just take your Dresci and keep your mouth glued to that bottle."

"Wow, aren't you special. Roland doesn't usually talk to just anyone," Kali pointed out with a mouthful of ale. She swallowed down and swiped a thumb over her lips for overflowing it. "Mmm...! Not Bloodwine. You'd think, right? That stuff will burn a hole right through your spleen, but I can think of better options to kill you. Tastier too."

She took a shot first before continuing. "Pleasure drinks - that's Draylaxian whiskey. Beautiful stuff. It goes down like ambrosia and then kicks you if you don't pay attention. The other drinks, well, I really don't care if I'm drinking anti-freeze so long as it does the job, but I wouldn't pass up something sweet." Then she leaned forward as if partaking a secret. "Chocolate liquor really kills me. It's the tiny smidge of Vulcan in me. Can't handle it. I mean, I can, but I refuse to drink it on the ship anymore. Personal reasons." She did it once and then hung all over Len like a cat in heat. Then she almost cried and gave all of her secrets away. Never again.

"Your turn! Gimme all of your nitty-gritty love of classy drinks!" she trilled out happily.

Jettis Jyur

Shooting a cheeky grin at Roland, he didn't immediately reach for his bottle. Leaning back, he took another, slower gulp from the bottle of ale. "Really? Well, glad I was so privileged, as to hear Roland the Magnificent's voice, an opportunity presented to only the most daring of nights."
He could probably get drunk off the sarcasm in his voice alone. Locking eye contact with 'Roland', he very deliberately set his bottle down, before turning back to Kali.

"I have a weakness for JÁƒ¤ger, I must admit. What can I say? I'm German." And that fact became increasingly clear the lower his bottle got. His light, complimenting accent would get slowly more heavy as the night progressed, and as the bottles disappeared. Already it could be noticed more on his S's purely from relaxing his voice, there was no telling what an undetermined amount of Dresci would do.
"But I'd say another pleasure drink is... Saurian Brandy. Almost no beating it. Tamarian Frost is a nice 'feel good' drink too. As for 'I don't even know what this is' drinks, everybody knows Romulan Ale'll get you drunk, but.." He paused, glancing up curiously, thinking. "Hafta say, I'm partial to sweet things myself, but I'd probably take the Blue Motorcycle. Nothing like AMF on a night of forgetting who you even are."

Kali Reyes

Kali didn't waste a beat with her drink, but she had second thoughts with the Dresci. The truth was it's been almost a couple months since she had a drop of anything alcoholic. A lot of her off time was spent on the paperwork or running around regulating the ship.

She took the Dresci bottle before Roland could put it away. She's never hesitated from a challenge yet. "Ah, playing for the home team. I'd sympathize, but my dad's side of the family comes from a long line of wine drinkers. That's the Spanish for you." Wine was fine, but it was way too refined for her taste. Like diet liquor for the elite.

"We don't get a lot of Earth born officers, let alone from Germany," Kali observed with a lazy grin. "Do you know German?" That was when she turned off the translator in her wrist. "Okay, talk dirty to me," she teased.

Jettis Jyur

Polishing off the bottle easily, he poured himself a shot of Dresci after she had, listening to her speak. Without hesitation, he threw it back, pressing his lips together and shaking his head violently. Damn. Always the first shot, wasn't it? At least for him.

"Wine isn't bad, but it's a drink for when you're at a dinner with someone you're negotiating something with. Not for when you're out with your drinking buddies." He commented after he had swallowed.
Both eyebrows soared high when she asked if he knew German, and proceeded by turning her translator off. A ghost of a smirk appeared on his face, and he cleared his throat, lowering it even further from his already deep, gutteral voice. It took on an edge of sultry, as if he were actually taking her up on her dare.

"Seien Sie vorsichtig, was Sie für Liebling fragen. Ich sage nichts von Bedeutung, aber da Sie kein Deutsch sprechen, werde ich es klingen, als sage ich etwas, das Sie nie zu Ihren Vorgesetzten sagen sollten." He grinned seductively, mock fluttering his eyelashes, before reaching for the bottle of Dresci again, filling his shot glass. "Deine Bewegung; Your move."

Kali Reyes

"Wooow. Whew!" She fanned herself like a coquettish damsel. "They say French is the language of love, but you guys really bring it to town. That was absolutely filthy." He could have been reciting transmission array instructions for all she knew, but hell if that didn't light her up like the fourth of July.

"Deine Bewegung; Your move."

The shot glass went limp in her fingers as she mutely stared. Did he want her to actually say something back? The alcohol made the firing of synapses in her head move slower than normal; she only knew one thing out of Standard and it made her slap the counter in triumph.

"Ah! O-keh! P'tomolnla naet silla jmean xoelb p'toetla!*" That ought to do it. She leaned back against the bar, crossed her legs, and took a smug shot like it was no big deal. Orion saves her again.

[*Let me stretch before we do body shots!]

He grinned smugly at her reaction, chuckling at the fact that she had no idea what he had said. "Well, I know that too, and a few other languages. Mostly European." He bragged, still smirking as he downed his second shot. "If you couldn't tell already, I was a weird kid."

He snorted at her look of absolute bafflement on her face at him asking her to say something. As well as the few seconds that went by of silence, save for people in the background chatting to themselves.
When she finally came up with something to say, he pressed his lips together, masking another grin and suppress a laugh. "Impressive. But I was thinking more along the lines of Spanish? Or is that a little too difficult after one whole bottle of ale?" He chuckled, filling up his own shot glass for round three. He was only just getting started.

Kali Reyes

Kali colored a bit and shook her head. "You're gonna be disappointed. Dad wasn't a very 'heritage' kind of guy. If the translator can't pick it up, it wasn't worth the conversation." Her fingers twitched over her wrist just itching to reactivate it. She felt like she was six again and her father just nearby in his study... and he could hear that she deactivated her translator for no reason but amusement.

She squelched down the fear and took another drink. "Spanish is overrated anyways. I only need two words: tequila and cerveza, por favor."

Jettis Jyur

Jettis tilted his head slightly, shrugging his shoulders. "On the contrary, I like Spanish. It's very different from any language I know." He commented absently, glancing down before meeting her eyes again, smirking. "But I can drink to tequila and beer." He raised his glass again for a toast, before downing its contents.

Smiling innocently at Kali, he tilted is head further. "Getting tired yet? You're already falling behind." He taunted her, prompting her to up her speed. "Like I said before, this won't be much of a challenge if you don't at least try."

Kali covered her wrist with her sleeve and matched his stare with a vicious grin. "Well, if you're really itching to get your mouth on something Spanish, I'd be happy to oblige." She let the words hang when she fished the bartender. "Get the Shotwire Tequila, pleasy!"

When Roland shook his head and did as he was told, Kali started cracking her knuckles. "The night is young. Ready to get trounced by your tiny superior officer?" She forewent the shot glass entirely and started getting the action straight from the bottle.

Jettis Jyur

He sniggered as she took his comment to heart, truly and competitively. "Fine, if that's how you want to play it... JÁƒ¤germeizter spice and a regular glass with it! zo little lady 'ere can see how it'z done." He almost felt bad for the poor bartender, especially if he was going to be on duty the entire time they were there.

"We'll see about that. You still have catching up to do, and I just need to out-drink you, not out-binge you." He crossed his arms, taking the cup and bottle brought to him, and poured himself a generous glass. Boy, was he going to hate himself in the morning.

Kali Reyes

By the time he finished ordering, Roland came by with the tequila and Kali already polished off both her ale and the Dresci. She dangled the empty bottle between her fingers to taunt him.

"We finissshed with appetizers? Hooray!" Kali popped the cork off the tequila with her teeth and checked for the special prize inside. "Bet you can't eat this worm," she drawled cheekily. "I will seriously... I dunno. What do you want if you do?"

Roland frowned as he handed Jettis his alcohol. "Don't eat the worm."

Jettis Jyur

Jettis glanced up at her comment, and shifted to glance inside the bottle. "Bet I can't? Bet you can't. You just want to pawn it off to me becausse you're too scared." Whether he was deflecting or whether he just wanted to see her do it, he wasn't going to eat the worm. Sipping part of his drink, he let himself enjoy and savor the taste, before he starte downing it remorselessly.

"Believe in any of the tequila worm superstitions? I've heard a lot of crazy ones, for sure." He grinned at the thought. "Like if you eat it, you'll suddenly get magick powers-" he did sarcastic jazz hands for effect. "Or it will make you even more drunk, or it will give you good luck for a year." He personally thought them all to be pure bull, but hey, who was he to know? Even drunk as a lord, he wouldn't eat the worm. Why would anyone want to? He might as well just order the delicacy, if he wanted to eat worms.

Kali Reyes

Kali genuinely blinked at him. "I've had tequila worms," she replied in confusion. "They don't do any of that." If anything, she would get tripped up and wake up upside down in a booth. Sometimes she might even be wearing some kind of religious shawl for some reason.

"But hey, if you can't do it, ya can't do it." She tipped the bottle back, much to Roland's disapproval. It was going to take some time to get to the worm anyways. "So I guess you're going to be out-binged and out-drunk." She's lived in Risa for three years. That's credentials enough.
