When you asked who was in charge of the story, I thought you meant the featured sim.  :-)

You should be on the Ops station on the bridge, of course.  No reason you wouldn't have been there all along.

We are currently moving to help a ship which has struck a quantum filament.   Perhaps you can propose ways to allocate energy to speed our arrival, or provide some suggestions about how to deal with the presence of the nearly undetectable filaments when we arrive.  Or perhaps you know something about the type of ship we are rescuing, and have suggestions about how best to mount a rescue.  Feel free to jump in with any aspect that might strike your fancy.

Hey Wang!

I'm going to be wrapping up Calandra on the bridge. I was NPCing as an Ops ensign on the roster but if you wanna hop in, I'm going to be pulling him out so I can just focus on Calandra for the rest of the mission. Glad you joined us, friend.

Outside of the side/character development scenes going on right now, I can recap the overall storyline for you and everyone else who might not be abreast of why we went to Yellow Alert.

Lost and Found [So far...]
Challenger picked up a faint distress signal they couldn't clear up. A probe was ordered and was able to pick up the hail better while scanning the region of space for the source of the hail. Based on an estimation of the coordinates, the probe finds a recreational cruiser called the Scopulari and picks up faint Denobulan life signs. The Scopulari entered the Zevdal (I don't know. I made it up. It's an anagram for the Exxon-Valdez) Expanse, a part of space that's got some weird sub-space and spatial anomalies due to a toxic waste freighter running into a cosmic string and dumping a lot of hazardous waste. The expanse is known for being a place for extreme thrill-seekers to explore to try to outrun the anomalies. The Scopulari survived a quantum filament but a distortion in sub-space indicates there's another quantum filament approaching.

That's pretty much the mission so far, can't wait for you to make your appearance.

I'm thinking the program is kind of a cross between Deadliest Catch and Sister Wives or just any show that has a dangerous adventure element coupled with family drama. If anyone wants to come up with the preview, be my guest and have at it. Rayek settled on Baras of Denobula, which means that any of his wives (and there could be other husbands too, but they'll have their own)should  be referred to as _____ Baras if they take his name. Otherwise, I'll do it in my next post. Just wanted to include more people.

If the IHEN idea flies, I imagine it's a common knowledge thing that everyone knows about.
