The Dimensional Dilemma

General Information
Mission Title: The Dimensional Dilemma
Synopsis: While carrying two rivalling diplomatic delegations, the Ship gets pulled into a space rift in which they encounter an alien civilisation that created said rift involuntarily. They have to escape the rift without succumbing to the radiation that has built up within it. After exiting, they are confronted with the Factions and have to find a way to solve the conflict without destroying them.

Starting Point: The Ship departs from Deep Space 46 after receiving Orders from Starfleet Command to head to the Plexar System to pick up the Delegations.
End Goal: The Crew has solved the Conflict peacefully, not destroyed the Rift with the Civilisation inside it and escaped it too.

Full Spoilers, in case this actually gets picked up one day

Act I
Synopsis: The Crew takes on the Delegations and shows them around the Ship.
Story: The Crew takes off from the Space Station and has to prepare the Ship for the arrival of the Delegations. After Arriving in the Plexar they pick up the Delegations from the Primary and Secondary Planets of the Systems and have to accomodate them on the Ship. After boarding they get a tour of the Ship requiring each Department to beforehand polish up their stations to the highest presentable standard.
The XO and CO take the Delegations separately from each other through separate parts of the ship. This is to avoid causing them to contact prematurely and causing conflict.
All of this has to take place while at the same time the Ship is busy with integrating a new scanning module into the Ships systems.
Departments:
- Flight: Fly to Plexar and collect the Delegations
- Engineering: Showing off their Department, working on the new Scanner
- Operations: Beaming up the Delegations, Showing off their Department
- Security and tactical: Guarind the Delegations, Showing off their Department
- Medical: Showing off their Department, inoculating the Crew against the Diseases of Plexar
- Science: Showing off their Department, working on the new Scanner

Act II
Synopsis: The Ship is pulled into a strange anomaly and needs to map it if they want to find a way out of it.
Story: While in transit through a Nebula the Ship detects a space anomaly. It begins to drag the Ship into it. Trying to not destabilise the situation, the happening has to be hidden from the Delegations putting stress on the Security Department.
All Efforts to stabilise the Ship eventually fail and it gets pulled into the anomaly damaging the Ships systems in the process. They find themselves in a space vacuole. It is hundreds of thousands of cubic kilometres large and filled with stellar material and Dust from the Nebula.
The Sensors are not fully working and the new Sensor seems to have been overloaded. The vacuole is filled with radiation that seems to have been built up inside it. The crew needs to receive some form of treatment to block them from radiation or they will get cooked alive.
They begin to map out the vacuole in an attempt to find a way out.
Departments:
- Flight: Trying to not get pulled in, then mapping the new space around them
- Engineering: Repairing the Ship after it sustained damage in the process of getting pulled in
- Operations: Assisting Engineering with repairing the Ship, keeping vital system operational
- Security and tactical: Keeping the Delegates from freaking out and/or killing each other
- Medical: Finding a way to protect the Crew from the radiation
- Science: Assisting Medical and/or FLight with their respective tasks
Act III
Synopsis: The Crew discovers a Planet. It features an alien civilization that has caused the anomaly and is trapped inside it without the means to escape it.
Story: The Ship discovers a darkened alien planet in the centre of the Anomaly. It features an alien civilization that has adapted to life here far from any star or other powersource. After some investigation they find out the aliens use oscillating warp fields to generate power. Because of the particles found in the nebula that got attracted to the warp fields that have built up in the warp fields the anomaly got created.
Repairs on the Ship begin to restore systems. An away team is sent down to the planet while the ship crew continues to map out the anomaly in the hopes of finding their entrance point to use it to leave again.
The aliens are peaceful but rely on the power systems they use to continue to power their civilization. Since there is no central heat source if they shut down power their people would freeze to death.
Some of the Security forces accompany the away team to the planet. This opens enough of an opening for the Delegations to stake some conflict on board. They assemble some weapons from their diplomatic luggage and begin to try to take vital ship sections. They believe the other Faction to be behind the situation and want to take the ship to get payback.
Departments:
- Flight: Mapping the Anomaly
- Engineering: Repairing the Ship, examining the Aliens tech
- Operations: Repairing the Ship, Assisting with keeping the Delegates out of vital areas
- Security and tactical: Protecting the Away Team, Fighting against the rioting Delegates
- Medical: helping people wounded in the riot
- Science: Assisting Engineering or Flight with their task, analysing the anomaly itself.
Act IV
Synopsis: The Crew helps the aliens either by fixing their tech or switching power sources. They thus can open an opening in the anomaly and return to normal space.
Story: On the ship the Delegates are brought back under control and the vital areas of the Ship are cleared again. The Crew thus can concentrate on fixing the aliens' tech. Its up to the Players how they want to approach this. Possibilities are, but not limited to, include: Shielding the Warp Fields, filtering the particles out of the Nebula, switching their power source, creating a means to prevent the fields from oscillating.
Adapting the same technique of the oscillating warp fields the science Department can open a rift into normal space allowing the Ship to escape.
Departments:
- Flight: Exciting the Anomaly through a small opening
- Engineering: Helping the Aliens
- Operations: Assisting Engineering, repairing any damage to the ship that occurred under the Delegations Riots
- Security and tactical: Clearing the last remnants of the Riot
- Medical: if there are more wounded treat them, calm down the Delegates
- Science: Open up the gate out of the anomaly
Act V
Synopsis: In Normal Space the rivalling Factions have taken up arms and are in a standoff in space, the Ship has to stop them before a War breaks out.
Story: As soon as they are out in normal space again the scanners detect multiple Vessels. Its ships from the Factions. They detected some hull fragments from when Ship got pulled in and assumed the other faction had destroyed it along with their respective Faction. They are just about to open fire upon each other.
All Crew quickly has to come up with a way to disable the Ships without destroying them. All Departments can pitch into this as time is off the essence and regular force could be seen as taking sides if used against any vessel.
After the Situation is resolved they take the delegates to the Site of the Conference and the Mission is officially finished.
Departments:
- Flight: Finding a way to clear the situation peacefully, Flying to Conference Site
- Engineering: Finding a way to clear the situation peacefully
- Operations: Finding a way to clear the situation peacefully
- Security and tactical: Finding a way to clear the situation peacefully
- Medical: Finding a way to clear the situation peacefully
- Science: Finding a way to clear the situation peacefully
