Mission Title: Shadows on the Frontier

Synopsis:
The [SIM SHIP] receives a distress signal from a distant, unexplored planet with a Wild West-like culture.  They initially must try and retrieve advanced spaceship technology tied to the federation before the inhabitants discover it.  Upon arrival, the crew discovers a society divided between two alien factions - the humanoid Tarn settlers and the enigmatic insectoid Drayth. The Tarn accuse the Drayth of sabotaging their resources, while the Drayth claim the Tarn are trespassing on sacred lands. As tensions escalate, [SIM SHIP] must navigate the conflict, uncover the truth behind the resource issues, and deal with the hidden influence of an advanced alien entity, The Arbiter.  The Arbiter itself is a higher entity that is studying social conflicts between different societies and its implied that this entity has abducted the ancestors of the the Tarn and Drayth from elsewhere in the galaxy.

Starting Point:
[SIM SHIP] responds to a distress signal from the planet and beams down an away team. The team finds themselves in a dusty town divided between Tarn settlers and Drayth. Simultaneously, The Arbiter subtly influences events from behind the scenes.

End Goal:
Resolve the conflict between the Tarn settlers and the Drayth, uncover the source of the resource issues, prevent the factions from discovering advanced technology, and establish a peaceful coexistence or understanding. Uncover The Arbiter's involvement and address its influence.

Story points that must be passed?

-Investigate the distress signal and the tensions between the Tarn settlers and Drayth.

-Discover evidence of resource sabotage and identify the culprits among the Drayth or Tarn.

-Establish communication between the away team and both factions to understand their perspectives.

-Uncover the history of the Tarn settlers and the Drayth, revealing the root cause of their conflict.

-Develop a plan to address the Tarn settlers' and Drayth's concerns and find a resolution to the resource issues.

-Prevent the factions from discovering advanced technology from the downed spaceship's distress signal.

-Encounter unforeseen challenges or complications that test the crew's problem-solving skills.

-Uncover The Arbiter's involvement and its subtle influence on the conflict.

Departments:

-Flight: Navigate the ship through the planet's unique atmospheric conditions and maintain communication with the away team.

-Engineering: Analyze the resource sabotage, develop technology to prevent the factions from discovering the advanced ship, and address environmental challenges.

-Operations: Manage ship systems and communications, relay information between the away team and the ship.

-Security and Tactical: Provide security for the away team, mediate tensions between the Tarn settlers and Drayth, and prevent unauthorized access to the advanced technology.

-Medical: Attend to any injuries or illnesses among the away team and provide medical assistance to the Tarn settlers or Drayth.

-Science: Investigate the planet's unique environment, study the Tarn settlers and Drayth, and analyze the resource issues to find a scientific resolution. Investigate The Arbiter's influence.
