Character Bio:
Evendi was born on a spaceship and has lived on one as long as she can remember. Her parents were effectively pirates, taking advantage of planets and ships alike. Evendi was left in charge of her siblings for the most part, her mother continuously implying that her time to join them in their "˜treasure hunts' was drawing nearer. But Evendi never wanted to do what her parents did. She was a more sensitive soul, wishing for something better than constantly trying to outrun an angry mob.
It was not until one fateful "˜job' that her parent's luck turned sour. Evendi had been brought along to help in their deception while her sisters were left on the ship. She was only 16. Unable to steal the medicines that her parents were hoping to score, Evendi botched the disguise and cover story and her parents were discovered. It was as they were racing for their ship that Evendi fell behind. A careless step and she broke her leg"¦ And her parents left her behind. They just"¦ Left her. It broke her heart.
Thankfully, the people of the outpost were much kinder than her parents and took in the injured young woman once they realized she meant them no ill will. She was an innocent. I'm her new home, she quickly wanted to make herself useful. She hovered around the medical areas, eager to learn what she could about how people interact and feel"¦ People that weren't like her parents. It was while she puttered around with Dr. Maureen Louper, a human psychiatrist for the colony, that she found her true calling. Her innate ability was not something "˜wrong.' She could use it. And if she joined Starfleet"¦ Maybe someday she could find her sisters"¦ So with a dedication that she had not had for piracy, she threw herself completely into the study of interaction and the mind.
Evendi loves the study of different peoples and planets, relishing finding some new information that she can add to her skill list. She also enjoys reading, writing and painting. The art of expression is another outlet for her passions.

Evendi turned away from the chair that an ensign sat in and picked up a pitcher of water. Filling it, she offered it to the Ensign who then took a deep drink. Then Evendi offered them a tissue. Her face was a kind of neutral but kind. There were not many things you could say to someone that was processing fresh grief"¦ Not much that was welcomed at any rate. Humans were fascinating as a species"¦ Particularly males were discussing emotions and feelings was almost"¦ Nonexistent. They were providing her with more opportunities than she had initially thought they would in developing her talents. "œNow please. Continue. I understand that your dream is distressing, but to understand why and to find a path forward"¦ We must understand what had created this pain."
The ensign looked at her and sniffed deeply. He has not felt this comfortable with a doctor before"¦ He knew what they said about Orions"¦ But she worked with StarFleet"¦ So she could be trusted"¦ Right? "œWell. I am running toward an airlock"¦ But it just seems to be getting further and further away. Then"¦ I hear it"¦ There's a"¦ hissing sound"¦ And I feel this ache in my chest"¦ Before I'm sucked out to space"¦ I can FEEL my lungs shrinking. I can feel my eyeballs freezing up. It's horrible"¦"
Evendi reached over and gently patted his hand. "œThat is quite disturbing"¦ If you think back on the airlock"¦ Is it one for a ship?"
The ensign just nods.
"œI see. Is it this ship?"
Another nod.
