[Starbase 45: McCullogh's Tavern]
"I believe it. With a place like this, it's probably no wonder that you see folks from all over.'

The drink was very well done. Bright and fruity, but with a dry kick from the alcohol and herbs. Just a few sips was good enough to give the Lieutenant a bit of a buzz already. "That's one pretty darn good drink you've got there. The fresh leaves really do make it, I think. Honestly one of the best I've had in a long time. Its probably a good thing I'm not stationed here. I'd be hungover for days on end." She laughed.

"And that is why I make it a point to offer a wide range of synthihol options on my menu," Osiris replied as she tossed the mixing glass and the muddler into a bin to be cleaned in the next rotation. She kept a clean bar, no one liked their mint julep to taste like jumanja leaves, that was certain, though now that she thought of it she did wonder. "It's the nature of the trade really, I rely on the customer to know their limits and my intuition to tell me who doesn't. I've seen all sorts walk through those doors. Never met a one who walked out in a worse mood though." She shook her head and chuckled.

Lt. Esparza nodded to the Bouncer with a sassy nod of her own before taking a seat. "Heh, I've had bloodwine before, Pretty good, once you get used to the aftertaste." she said, easing in. "If it weren't for the fact that I have to go back on duty in a few hours, I'd take you up on the offer and get a couple mugs!" she said to the bouncer, and grinning at the bartender gal in front of her. "Anyways,  I'm feeling in more of something like a cocktail tonight. A Risian Sunset sounds great." she said, admiring the decor of the Joint.

"You see a lot of people around here?" she asked, mostly for conversation.

"I see all sorts and they order almost anything you can think of," Osiris said and grabbed a glass. She grabbed a second glass and tossed a couple of amber leaves in it and with a muddler began to grind them to release the essential oils inside. "Now, the thing about a truly perfect Risian Sunset is to use as fresh of Jumanja Leaves as you can. I have a friend who brings me in a box of fresh leaves every couple of weeks, stassis helps to keep them fresh, but my friend, you are most lucky as I just got these leaves in today." She laughed as she poured in a number of other alcohols and mixers before dropping a couple of ice cubes in the glass and slapping a mixer cup on top. SHe gave the mixture a few good shakes and winked at the officer before her. A moment later she strained the drink into a fresh glass and slid it across the bar to her patron. "Now, you taste that and tell me it's not delicious."

[Term: On the Rocks]

[Starbase 45: McCullogh's Tavern]

The dim, but well-lit bar bustled with customers of all sorts, most passing through for a bite to eat, or simply just a good night on the town. it was your typical bar, with all the trappings. Dark wood, custom signs, the occasional signed picture of a well-decorated Starfleet officer who had visited the establishment. The perfect place for both Starfleet officers and regular people alike. It was here one night that Lt. Karla Esparza visited the place. Nodding towards the bouncer, she smiled. "Hey there, got any recommendations for a good drink?" she asked, enjoying the ambiance. 'I've just come off the Fullerton and I've heard this place is the best around.

[Starbase 45: McCullogh's Tavern]

The bouncer, a hefty Klingon male by the name of Senmok scowled at the Starfleet officer. He was a full head taller than almost everyone else there and covered in muscles that were in turn covered in tattoos. He looked like a bouncer and yet smelled like spices that were nearly inoffensive. "I would say blood wine, but I doubt a puny human like yourself could handle it," he said and gave a boisterous laugh.

It was this laugh that cued Osiris in that there was something going on at the door. She walked up and smiled when she saw the officer, paying no mind to her bouncer, he was a butt, but he wasn't paid for the purpose of being polite.

"Welcome! Welcome! Come in and have a seat," she declared as she took the Starfleet officer by the arm and led them inside. Her gold eyes flashed as she took the young officer toward the bar. She gestured to the back of the bar as she spoke again. "Now let me guess, fresh off a ship and in need of some entertainment? I have just the thin, a couple of holosuite visits and I assure you, you'll forget all your problems." She paused and then smirked again. "Or maybe a drink? Something on the rocks maybe? I do make a mean Risan Sunset from time to time."

Character Name: Osiris Hela Kingston
Character Age: 37
Character DOB: August 13th, 2365
Character Image:

Character Species: Orion
Gender: Female
Character Family: She is an orphan with no known family
Character Bio:
Born in the remote Orion colony of Voga VI, Osiris has very few memories of her childhood there. She remembers being happy and can even recall the faces of her parents if she tries. She was still young when the slavers came and that was the end of her idyllic life.

She began her life as a slave as a simple cabin girl. She was beaten and abused almost daily at first, and though things did improve, she was never without bruises. In her teenage years, she began to fight back when she was beaten. Of course, this earned her worse beatings, but a stubborn spirit was born in her. She may have been a slave, but she wasn't going to make it easy on them. Eventually, after several masters had sold her, she was sent to the game on Triskelion.

On Triskelion she would fight to survive and eventually become a favorite for her games and was offered the chance to win her freedom. She was lucky to survive the fight, taking a nearly mortal wound to her side, where she remained scared.

With her freedom earned she went into business for herself. At first, she was only able to find work with the Ferengi, who while they didn't beat her treated her only marginally better than a slave. She would work moving freight and loading materials. She would save almost every bar of latinum she earned until she was able to finally get her own ship, which was little more than a shuttle with a small cargo hold.

For the next few years, she would travel from place to place earning a living trading in trinkets and small valuables. She did her best to make a living and keep her ship fueled, but it was the most free she had ever been before. It lasted all the way until her ship finally broke down and she was forced to sell it.

With coin in her pocket she decided to do that genius move every greedy businessman would make when they wanted to settle down for a while, she decided to open a bar. It took her some time to find a good location, but when she found an opening at a Federation Starbase she snapped it up right away, which led her in turn to Outpost Solaere.

Sample post:
The bar was getting set up at a rate that made Osiris quite happy. She folded her green arms as she watched the workmen bring in another crate of synthihol and stow it behind the bar. She had acquired a range of alcohols and synthihols from all over the region and was pretty sure if she didn't have it, she could get it. She tended to know someone from her years as a trader who could make her a deal.

"Right, Miss," a workman said as he walked up to her and held out a PADD. "Jus' need yer digit imprint on this 'ere line." He pointed at the screen of the PADD.

"That's the last of it then?" Osiris asked taking the PADD and pressing her thumb into the little box.

"Yep, we got 'er unloaded and put away," the workman said taking the PADD back. "You planning on opening soon?"

"I got some staff coming in on the next transport, so hopefully," Osiris said with an optimistic smile.

"Well, ya got some good product 'ere, so when ya do open, give me a shout," the workman said with a grin. "Might have to stop by and do some samplin'."

"Make you a deal, you show up to opening night, first drink is on the house," Osiris replied with a laugh.

"Yer on!" The workman said and after giving her a firm handshake, he and the other workmen left the bar.

And then Osiris was alone.

She had configured the bar to resemble something not quite identical to a vintage bar she used to hang out in on Risa when she was in the region. It was warm and disco-themed with colorful lights and plenty of tables and chairs. She had a reasonably sized and a couple of pool tables, along with a couple of holo-suites in the back. All in all, it was a very nice place.

But now, standing there by herself, she could only feel how empty the place was. It was full of doubt and fear. She had put everything into this place and now it was only a question of if it would pay off. There was already another bar on the station, something she had not been aware of when she had signed the lease. It meant there would be competition. She had to be better than she'd ever been before.

But for now, she just had to wait. It was a week until the grand opening and even though she had stock, it still had to be put on shelves and her staff had to get there.

It was all up in the air now.
