Early life

Syhr was born on one of the orbital stations around Andor, the enormous gas giant whose moon is home to their people. Unlike most Andorians, who spend most of their lives in underground communities to avoid the bitter winters on the frozen surface, Syhr was able to foster their own desire to explore the stars at an early age by actually living among them for their formative years. Eventually, their parents were transferred back to Andoria, and they had to plunge into a starless world.

The much more pressing matter of Andoria's current reproductive crisis overtook the want to go exploring. Syhr threw themselves into study, with a newfound love for medicine and more specifically genetics research. Once they'd moved back to Andoria, they saw the true effects of the crisis, the diminishing birthrate and the infertility that was threatening to finish off their species for good. Hi Annatar. They attended the Andorian medical academy and became a practicing doctor, with a focus on genetics research.Their occupational history before starfleet consisted of this research, and they joined starfleet as a medical doctor to further research opportunities to suit that end goal.

Starfleet career

Upon entering the academy, Syhr finally dropped the male-adjacent prefix to their surname, and, free from a society that places heavy attention on biological sex, was able to study with a significant amount of pressure off their shoulders. Their first assignment as an ensign was aboard the USS Athena as a doctor, where they were soon immediately thrown into varying degrees of mischief.

Part 2 of submitting my OTC missions as told to.

Mission Title: Star-Struck
Synopsis:

The USS Hermes, a science vessel specializing in stellar cartography and astrophysics, has sent out a frantic distress signal from close orbit of a dying star. The YourShip has been sent to investigate and rescue, but upon arrival immediately fall prey to the same thing that claimed the Hermes-- violent stellar flares have knocked out power to the engines and all major systems. The situation is dire-- within a week the star will expand far enough to completely engulf the stranded ships.

The Hermes would like their ship and research preserved at all costs, but the time frame for saving both ships is very narrow. Not only is the damage caused by the flares to both ships extensive, but the continuing solar activity will make it extremely difficult to navigate an escape even if the engines are brought online. The YourShip must find a way to rescue both-- if they can even rescue themselves.

Starting Point: Receiving a distress signal from the USS Hermes.

End Goal: Escape with your lives, and hopefully both ships intact.

Story points that must be passed?:

- Receive distress signal from USS Hermes
-Locate the Hermes, dodge the solar flares
-Fail to dodge solar flares
-Become immobilized with critical system failures
-either find a way to repair both ships, or find a way to save the Hermes' data and crew
-attempt escape, dodge solar flares again
-send mission report to starfleet and never go near a star like that again

Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)
- Flight: Pilot around solar flares, give input as to best navigational courses.
- Engineering: Restart the engines on both the vessels if possible.
- Operations: Compensate for solar gravity, assist with engine restart, handle damage control for the effects of the flares.
- Security and tactical: Try to rule out foul play on board the Hermes, then assist with the heavy lifting of repairs. Work with Ops to try and shield the ship against solar flares.
- Medical: Deal with any incoming casualties from the initial impacts, assist the crew if life support starts to fail. Transport aboard Hermes to assist there as well.
- Science: Find a way to preserve the massive amount of scientific data aboard the Hermes-- pehaps use some of the data from the solar flares to help find a way to escape them or protect the ship from the flares themselves.
- All: Contemplate your impending fiery death by solar engulfment.

Submitting the missions from my OTC as told to.

Mission Title:  When life gives you...
Synopsis:

A routine shipment of fresh fruits and vegetables for use by the galley seems to be as boring as one would expect, but there's a problem. A batch of lemons that have come in are not what they seem-- they're actually explosives, and as soon as they reach the storage room, they blow a large hole in the galley walls. Concern turns to the other supplies brought aboard-- as it turns out, all of the fresh produce brought aboard is nothing but carefully timed bomb after bomb.

Brief investigation nets a warning note from a radical fringe group that considers all plant life to be sacred, untouchable, and higher in life value than 'humanoid' or 'animal' life. They've somehow also sabotaged the replicators-- not even the image of a vegetable or fruit is acceptable and won't come out of the replicator.  Apparently, they're the source of the explosives, as a warning to all herbivorous people that they won't stop until the entire quadrant grants plants the respect they're owed as life forms. The USS YourShip must established contact with members of this group on a specifically designated planet without damaging any of the local flora, and negotiate for the group to leave the practices of your diets alone. However, not everyone's willing to talk. Even getting to the meeting-place is fraught with danger. The space his hostile, and they don't allow beaming directly on-site-- a long walk is ahead, lined with more radical members of the group who don't agree with negotiations.

Starting Point: Aforementioned lemony explosion.

End Goal: Saboteurs apprehended, produce successfully replaced with non-explosives, perhaps new dialogue with fringe group.

Story points that must be passed?:
-Dock for supplies
-Explosion
-investiagtion, receive note here
-make it to the negotiation planet without getting shot out of the sky.
-Make it to the meeting place on foot for the away team
-fix the replicators for a temporary solution
-Argue for your rights to eat plants, apprehend the actual sabotuers to be brought to justice
-Get Out

Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)
- Flight: Fly the shuttle to the meeting place/coordinate to help find a solution to the plant problem
- Engineering: Repaire the damage done in the explosion to the plasma ducts leading to the engine-- work with ops.
- Operations: Work with engineering and science to try and get the replicators to budge on producing the vegetables again.
- Security and tactical: Defend the away team from fringe group members, investigate and locate the people who actually bombed your ship.
- Medical: Work with science to bring an argument to the negotiation table about why humans need to eat vegetables and plant matter.
- Science: Try and synthesize nutrients into non-vegetable replicated food to circumvent the 'rules'.
