I've tried over the last few months, I really have. The Katra crew tells compelling stories, but I just can't seem to get into the character of Jeb. I'd like to reserve him, while I try to think of a more compelling Alt to make in his place and send back to Katra station.

Note: I will continue to keep Judy around on SBC as usual. This only applies to Jeb.

Early life
Jeb was born in Wayne County, Ohio, to an Old Order Amish (of the hyper-Conservative Swartzentruber sect) family of great esteem within the community. As a child, he was raised in a large family (9 children born within 15 years, of whom he was the 4th), spoke both English and Pennsylvania Dutch, and scarcely used any modern technology.
However steeped he should have been in Amish tradition and Orthodoxy, Jeb showed immense curiosity in the outside world. Around the time of adolescence (Rumspringa), Jeb began to branch out too far, spending days or even weeks at a time with the "English" in the nearby city of Wooster.
Finally realizing that their son would not be baptized into the Amish church, Jeb's parents reluctantly sent their rampantly curious son to a boarding school in Akron when he was 17. A year afterwards, Jeb joined Starfleet. After an extended training (to account for the lack of technological fluency that he suffered from), he finally got to pursue his wildest dreams and curiosity and go off to space.

Starfleet career
Jeb was initially assigned to the USS Discovery, with the rank of Crewman. After a brief but promising tour of duty there, he went to the Academy to pursue officer candidacy. Upon successful completion thereof, he was posted to the Starbase Katra, holding the rank of Ensign, and charged with coordinating cargo traffic.

[SBC, Guest Quarters]

Circumstances had brought the newly-minted Ensign Schrock to the Starbase Columbus. It wasn't that odd, really, considering he'd served his entire (brief) career in task force 10. It also wasn't unwelcome, on Jebby's end, to be staying in nicer quarters and without a roommate. The guest quarters were the most luxurious room the young Amish officer had ever stayed in...

...or they would've been, if the replicator hadn't decided to spray Jeb's ginger ale onto the carpet. The whole room now stank of it, and the replicator kept shooting out random bursts of soft drinks.

  "Schrock to Engineering,"  an exasperated Jeb hailed the probable source of help.   "The replicator in my guest suite broke." 

Note/refresher: Jebby is/was/will be again my alt. My main is Judy Eastman.

Recently, I requested to reserve Jebby. Now, I'm making an about-face, but I have reasons.
First of all, I'd like to ask that he be posted to the Katra. I really want to play a character there, but Judy is part of the furniture on the Tempest (or rather, owns a large part of the furniture), so I'd need an alt.
Second, playing an Ops character on a ship was hard, so I'd strongly prefer to play Jebby on the Katra; barring that, I'll take SBC, but I'd much rather not play him on a ship.

Third, I was wondering if it'd be possible to switch Jebby to the commissioned track, and to play him as an Ensign. This is just a fit of fancy, not a requirement, so I'd be just as happy to play him as a crewman again.

I'd prefer to start playing him in October, when the Katra launches, but I'm flexible on that.

I have been thinking about this for a month, and it is not something I take lightly.
I haven't really managed to connect with the character (as in get inside his head and understand what makes him tick), and I feel that this brings down the quality of my posts. Hence, I'm requesting to reserve Jebby. He was just too good for me to write.
However, I have every intention of continuing to play Judy. This applies to Jeb alone.
