[Transporter Room]

Kyle was relieved to see that everyone had arrived.

"I agree." Kyle said. He had to admit that he was a little excited about getting off the ship for a little while.

"I completely understand, Lieutenant. I have no misgivings about who knows these ships best." he replied with a smile. "Okay. Bridge team first. Tekin, Mackenzie, Reyes and D'Angelo. You're up." He watched as they climbed onto the transporter pad. "Stay safe folks. Energize."

A few seconds later and they were gone. "Sickbay team." he called out looking over at Doctor Cottle. "Cottle, Bixox and...Doctor Cottles new friends." Kyle couldn't help himself. The disgruntled doctor, for some reason, reminded him of his Grandfather. He just couldn't resist teasing with the older gentleman. As Cottle past by, Kyle leaned in slightly toward him. "Please try not to kill your Security detail, Doc." he whispered with a grin and a wink. They duplicated the move of the first team and just as quickly, were gone.

Kyle looked around at the remaining personnel. That leaves us, people." he said to Kaz, Sassa and Ainsley. "Shall we go see what stories the Hargraves has to tell us?" They all climbed up onto the pad and after a short molecule scramble, found themselves in the Engineering room of the other ship. Kyle couldn't help but to look around in amazement. "Wow." he said as he also happened to catch a glance of the look on Kaz's face. "I know. Hands to myself." he teased. "Where do we start, Lieutenant?" he asked.

Transporter Room

Sassa stepped up to the pad alongside the Captain, Kaz and Ainsley.  She was interested to find out what awaited them over at the other ship.

"Indeed, Captain... I think it's Storytime!" she said with a small smile.

[Transporter Room]

He nodded to the rest of the remarks sent his way. He also looked at the security detail with enormous distaste. He didn't need these... Children in his way. He knew, despite D'Angelo's assurances, that they would get in his way. He could handle himself! He had seen enough to be able to. He nodded to the crewmen anyways. "I'll be sure not to break your Petty Officers, Ensign." he said, very disinterested in the surroundings.

He heard the linguistic joke of Sassa, but chose to ignore it. It was the simple things in life that seemed to take care of some people. "Having weapons does not guarantee our safety." he said simply. "I've known plenty of people who died with a phaser unfired in their hand."

He wasn't joking either. Though he might be bringing own the mood, he was bringing what appeared to be some much needed seriousness and practicality to the room.

When he thought about it, he decided he wasn't fond of anyone in the ship going over, really. Especially not the child. He may be older than Klabax but he was still a child in appearance.

He nodded to the warnings of the ship's dangers. He'd likely ignore them. He'd unplug what ever and investigate who ever he wanted. With that minor nuisance done, all that remained was to beam over. He looked at the two security again, watching them mirror his every mood. He wondered if they'd been assigned to protect him, or watch him. Likely some of both.

Transporter Room

Sassa was confused by the words of the Doctor.  She hadn't meant to imply any joviality.

"Then I trust it's none of us Doctor, I was merely trying to ascertain how you meant your comment."

She looked to Ms Kaz and said "You're safe with me on that one, I don't pull things as Engineering is seriously not my forte.  If someone says to me 'hold that, pull that wire, I can and will follow instructions.  Otherwise, no, I'll let others check them over first!"

[Briefing room]

Lennox raised a brow, a grin slowly spreading across his face as he heard to Kali's promotion and her reaction to it. The Scotsman nodded his respect over to Kali, though mixed in with that was a hint of pride despite not knowing her for long, before his attention was grabbed by what Kyle was saying.

[Transporter room]

Certainly, Lennox managed to make a quick turnaround with his phaser. He knew exactly how long it would have taken him down to the armory and then back up to the transporter room. He aimed for the weapons cupboard that he would have sorted out, knowing that they would have been checked and doubled checked. Not to take anything away from Jane, who had most likely had done the same thing.

"Yer'll most likely need 'em. But, I cannae say whether we are goin' te use 'em." Lennox replied, half-checking over his own weapon one last time.

Transporter Room

"Interesting choice of words, Doctor.  Were you correcting me on my semantics or actually referring to the fact that while they would potentially serve as a deterrent for people just knowing that we possess them and have the ability to fire at them, you hope we don't have to put that theory to the test so to speak?" Sassa queried, her interest in linquistics piqued.

Transporter Room 2

Sassa looked around, this would be her first away mission.  It was illogical to be nervous but she couldn't ignore the feelings that she was having.

[Transporter Room]

He entered the room about five minutes before the prescribed time, and watited for the rest of the team to arrive, going to a wall terminal and looking up ships of the time. Maybe there would be something for him to look at interesting. Or maybe the ship had been looted by raiders long ago and now it was just the hulk he found floating around.

Sassa nodded at the doctor and indicated the phaser at her hip.  "Reckon we'll need them?" she asked, hoping that they wouldn't.

"Shame.. and I was using that to get her to work." he said in response, quietly so she could hear.

Ready Room

Equally quietly after the announcement had been made, Sassa said "I'm sure if time permits we can do some pronunciation work, however..."  she pressed some buttons on her PADD.  "There is some written work for her to practice with in the meantime!  Can't have our little linguist being lazy now can we?!"

Turning to Kali she gave her a beaming smile.  "Congratulations, well deserved."

Sassa's Quarters

Sassa looked up at the chronometer, she had been preparing another language lesson for Ruthie.  The girl was coming along admirably and it was a pleasure to teach her.  Right now though she had duty to attend to so she stood up, straightened her lapel pin and tugged down her tunic and then put in the chair she'd been sitting on then walked to the turbolift.

As she walked she heard the internal comms message from the Captain

Quote

"This is the Captain. I want the following officers to meet me in the Conference Room in five minutes. Tekin, Mackenzie, Kaz, Reyes, D'Angelo, Sassa, Ainsley, Cottle and Bixox. Briggs out."

She stepped out of the turbolift on the Bridge, nodded formally to Mr. Wu then crossed to the Conference Room, the door was open so she walked in.

[Conference Room]

Everyone had arrived on time and Kyle got down to business. He explained the story behind the disappearance of the other vessel and went on to explain his plan for the ship.

"We're going to be going over to look for any survivors despite no life signs being found. We're also going to see what kind of condition the Hargraves is in. Remember, this ship has been missing for over fifty years so we may not be perfectly familiar with her systems. That's why I'm making the teams as diverse as I can. I will take a team to the Bridge. Commander Tekin, I want you to take Kaz, Sassa and Ainsley to Engineering. See what things look like down there. Doctor Cottle. You and Crewman Bixox can checkout Sickbay. If we don't find anyone over there, dead or alive, see if there's anything in the Medical records to explain what happened. Reyes, D'Angelo and Mackenzie will be with me. Any questions?"

Sassa nodded at the Captain then looked to Commander Tekin.

"Looks like Ms. Falleg-Grix's Vulcan lesson may have to be postponed this afternoon!" she said with a wry smile.

Bridge

"Normal, normal, normal... hmmm possibly..."  Sassa went through the logs.  There was a potential anomaly earlier in the logs but she thought she was imagining it.  Also she was starting to feel rather tired so put it down to that.  She really could use a break but duty was duty and she went back to looking through the scans.
