It sure has, Kyo agreed. As Judy rose, he offered his arm, but in a jokingly gallant way that showed he wouldn't be insulted if she chose not to take it.

To the kitchen!

Saya loaded the cart with a variety of vegetables, meat, condiments and bread, as well as a few drink options like juice and sparkling water, and sent it back up to the kitchen. She trotted back upstairs, thinking wryly that she didn't really need to worry about how much she ate while here as she was getting far more physical activity every day than she did on a normal basis.

Judy waved the hand away, took her cane, and walked over to the kitchen. There, she observed the stuff Saya had loaded.

"You sure you don't want any cheese?" she asked. "I personally wouldn't mind some right now."
Judy had her mind on some of the aged cheeses she'd seen in the fridge, in all honesty.

Kyo followed Judy to the kitchen, grinning good-naturedly at Judy's refusal of his chivalry. He, too, looked over the food on the cart.

Saya sighed and raised her eyes to the ceiling when Judy pointed out the lack of cheese. I forgot. What kind would you like? She turned to head back down the stairs.

Kyo answered, I'm fine with whatever. I can do without, really.

Saya waited at the top of the steps for Judy's response.

"I'll come down with you," Judy offered. "With these cheeses, you need an experienced eye, and a big, experienced nose."

Judy moved towards the stairs, cane at the ready. She was back to pushing herself.

If you wish, Saya agreed, waiting for Judy at the top of the stairs, then slowly preceding her down them.

Kyo started unloading food from the cart and laying things out on the counter, getting cutting boards and knives out to chop more vegetables. He made a sort of assembly line so that they could choose their bread, then fillings and condiments. With a little prep on the vegetables, they'd be ready to go in short order.

Judy went down the stairs carefully but steadily, and was soon walking over to the pantry.
"Alright, I'm feeling like provolone, maybe some brie, goat brie, while we're having fun. Cream cheese, that's a classic. Oh, this one's fancy. Beaufort - always a favorite."

Judy pointed out each cheese.
"Saya, could you please grab all of those? And also the extra-sharp cheddar, if it's not too much?"

Saya collected each cheese as Judy pointed it out, loading her arms carefully.

No, I'm fine, she answered as she grabbed the cheddar and added it to precarious pile. I will have to go up the stairs slowly for my own sake this time. Perhaps Kyo should come down to go up with you? I certainly wouldn't be able to prevent you from falling this time.

"I'll manage," Judy answered. "I have the handrail and the cane, I'll manage."

Judy went up the stairs slowly. She felt a little shaking, the return of her tremors, and so she paused halfway up.
"I'll be fine. Just a moment," she said.
And then, she continued, reaching the top in good time.

Saya silently disapproved of Judy's choice but followed her slow progress up the stairs, carefully balancing her armload of cheese. As they reached the top, they could see Kyo beginning to chop the veggies.

He glanced over his shoulder, then approached quickly to relieve Saya of some of the cheese. These he added to the counter. Kyo gestured at the food and said, If you want to start building your sandwiches, I'll have veg ready in a minute.

"I'll work on the cheese," Judy replied. She retrieved a cutting board with a string cutter.

"This is the kind they have in cheese shops, back in France," she pointed out.

Sure enough, she sliced the cheeses, and then took to laying out some Beaufort on one half of a sandwich, and spreading Brie on the other.

Kyo shifted slightly to make room for Judy on the line as he quickly finished cutting up the last of the vegetables and cleared away the rubbish.

Saya spread cream cheese on both sides of her sandwich and began loading in a variety of vegetables and the sharp cheddar. Despite her nausea and vomiting earlier, she was actually quite hungry and felt she could tolerate food, as long as she didn't think about what had caused her sickness.

Kyo came after her and began piling a mass of turkey, different cheeses, mayonnaise, mustard and pickles onto his own bread.

Saya poured herself a glass of juice then asked, Judy, what would you like to drink?

"Coffee," Judy answered. "I need some coffee."

She was remarkably tired after this morning. A cup of her usual fix was definitely in order.

In the meantime, she finished loading her sandwich up with a collection of cheese and veggies, and took it to the table.

With a small smile of amusement, Saya moved to the coffee maker and got the brew started. She couldn't help commenting, however, How would you survive if you were stranded without coffee? And all one would have to do to capture you would be to lure you with a cup of hot coffee.

Kyo laughed heartily as he set his plate down to pour himself a glass of water before heading to the dining room.

"Oh, yes, I'd be screwed," Judy answered. "I'd be absolutely hopeless if I was stranded. As good as dead."

It was a slight exaggeration, to be sure. She could live without coffee, but the headaches would be unbearable for days.

"On the bright side, Starfleet's emergency ration packs have coffee, and I keep it on me at all times."
Such was the magic of handbags.

Saya giggled and rolled her eyes as she poured Judy's coffee and settled her juice into the crook of her arm, taking her plate in one hand and the coffee mug in the other to carry to the table.

She set Judy's coffee down, then moved to sit next to Kyo. They both waited patiently for Judy to bring her plate and sit before they began eating.
