S11 - Mission 6: Arch Enemies

Tekin & Kirok's combadge rang.  =/\=DS9 to Discovery Command Staff.  We have incoming vessels on long range sensors.  One of them is a Wells class ship. a voice said after the link was established.

[Bajor - Reception]

Kirok tapped his combadge.  =/\=Acknowledged=/\= he said and then ended the com link.  "Mr. Ainsley, Dr. Cottle, could you please inform everyone that they need to beam up to the Discovery?" the half Vulcan asked.

Bajor - Reception

Katcha heard the communication through Nevirs com-badge. She immediately but her hand up to her ear and lightly placed it over the Kais.

"Thank you Kai, but ve must go." She smiled at the older woman as she took a few steps until she was a little apart from the others. She then tapped her com-badge.

=/\=Filitov to Discovery. Ready to beam up.

=/\=Acknowledged. Please stand by. Came the reply from the duty Ops.

A few seconds later the transporter beam energised.

Discovery - Transporter room one

Katcha materialised in the transporter room and immediately stepped off the pad. Nodding at the Chief, she exited quickly and made her way directly to the Bridge.

Discovery - Bridge

Katcha exited the turbolift and immediately took her place at the Helm. She quickly ran through the pre-launch checklist so they could depart as soon as everyone else was on board.

[Steve Marshall]

Bajor - Reception

Katcha exited the turbolift and immediately took her place at the Helm. She quickly ran through the pre-launch checklist so they could depart as soon as everyone else was on board.

Bridge Security Console
Marshall had not quite gotten use the change in assignments. He was now on the bridge of the USS Discovery. Currently assigned to the Deep Space Nine. It had been his ambition to visit the station and he was surprised to find that his path had crossed the station so soon.

Security checks had been completed and things were moving far quickly than he imagined.

[Kali Reyes]

[Bajor - Reception]

Doctor Cottle left her alone after that. She was glad. At this point she just wanted to get her bearings instead of entertaining tonight. Alcohol sloshing through her system, Kali gratefully made a break for it alone to the nearest restroom to charm up a toilet.

Her stomach empty a few minutes afterwards, she left the stall and got to work washing the hell out of her mouth when another partygoer came in, looked at her curiously from the mirror, and then rested a palm on her shoulder.

Kali flinched and turned around.  "Cultural boundaries, lady. Kinda Vulcan here."

"My apologies," the Bajoran woman in a ridiculous amount of jewelry lifted up her other hand. "You dropped this."

Kali instinctively reached for her throat, mildly panicked at the empty space and then reached out for the simple silver cross. "It broke," she said lamely when she found the chain had snapped.

The woman nodded. "I've seen this symbol only once on a human. It is one of your Earth religions. The one true god."

"Debatable," She pocketed the cross. "Going with Christ is an important fashion statement."

"You lie so easily, I can't decide to be insulted or saddened."

"Join the club." Her combadge beeped. "Thanks. If you'll excuse me..."

The woman called out to her strangely amidst the flushing and the door sliding. "Your faith shakes for the man who gave you that."

Kali stopped in mid-stride and a cold fear zipped through her, but when she turned, the woman was gone. "God, these people are weird." Except for Tekin. Tekin was cool.

[USS Discovery]

When she rematerialized on the transporter pad, Anderson was already making her way for her with a PADD and diagnostics on the ship.

"Walk with me on the way up the bridge, yeah? That'a girl." Kali said in greeting while she undid the top buttons to her dress uniform. It was great to get out of the monkey suit and back to work.

[Klabax Cottle]

[Bajor - Reception]

Kirok tapped his combadge.  =/\=Acknowledged=/\= he said and then ended the com link.  "Mr. Ainsley, Dr. Cottle, could you please inform everyone that they need to beam up to the Discovery?" the half Vulcan asked.

[Bajor]

"Aye" Klabax said, walking around and informing people that it was time to go. With that done, he tapped his commbadge as the last people disappeared. Klabax to Discovery, one to beam directly to sickbay=/\= he said, disappearing a few moments later and then re-appearing a few moments later. He looked around, looking for Kintiss, his boss. Kintiss would know what's going on.

[Kirok]

Kirok made his way over the Bajoran and Cardassian dignitaries and said his goodbyes as quickly as he could.  He did the same fr the Kai.  But she insisted on blessing him one last time.

With that done, he move to a vacant side of the room.  =/\=Kirok to DS9.  One to beam directly to the Bridge the Ready Room on the Discovery=/\= he said after tapping his combadge.

Steve had noticed that the Admiral had beamed back aboard the DIscovery to his ready room.  " Admira Kirock is now aboard and in his ready room"  as he updated the command. team that was on the bridge. h signalled the station to confirm that admiral was a aboard and safe

The order came to return to the station. Mahak felt something akin to gratefulness. He had never been comfortable at human social occasions. It was time to go back to work.

"=/\=Crewman Mahak to the Discovery. Kindly transport ne to the torpedo bay."

He had just been enjoying this cultural exchanged when his comm badge went off.  Wells... he heard that class before.... just once.  Section 31.  Would they seriously.. with Bajor and DS9 right there?  Did S31 just not care about the Federation anymore?

"Excuse me, Kai.. it would seem my first obstacle has appeared.  Kachina.. you know what to do." he said, walking over to Hrafn to let he know what was going on.  She didn't like it.. but she did have first hand experience with them.  Nevir also told Ruthie to stay behind and that he would pick her up... but she started to protest.  So reluctantly, the Bajoran sighed, agreeing to bring her along.

Tekin to Ops, two to beam to the Discovery.  Take me directly to the Bridge, and my daughter to the pad. he said, as the two dematerialized from the surface of Bajor, and appeared a great distance away to the wormhole station.

Nevir wasted no time on the Bridge.  With the Admiral not there, it meant that he immediately went into his Ready Room, and Nevir was currently in command on the Bridge.

"Inform DS9 of our situation, and verify that they are not scheduled to arrive here.  Advise them that they may want to prepare defenses.  Lieutenant, " he said, turning to the relatively new man on tactical.  "get our own defenses online.  Be ready to raise shields as soon as we undock.  In the meantime.. hail the vessels." he said, waiting to see if these ships would respond.

=/\=DS9 to Discovery. Negative, we have no ships that are scheduled for arrival that match the classes of those detected. We have also attempted several communications with them with no response.

=/\=Understood. Are ve cleared for departure?

=/\=Affirmative Discovery. All other departures have been put on hold until this situation resolves itself. You are cleared to depart when ready.

=/\=Understood. Discovery out.

Katcha closed the com-link and turned to Nevir.

"DS9 reports zat zey are not expected Commander and all attempts at communication have been unsuccessful. Ve are also cleared to depart ven ready." She reported.

"Party doesn't start until I walk in," Kali quipped the moment she walked out the turbolift and onto the Bridge. Feigning sobriety was an art form at this point. She grinned at Tekin and gave him a two-fingered salute. "System check's 75% completed. Just need Engineering's approval and we're gold."

She even clapped the new guy on the shoulder on her way over to the Ops panel. Marshall something. That'll need to be rectified later. "You're still going through my standard orientation after this, good sir. It's almost Christmas, you know?"

Katcha closed the com-link and turned to Nevir.

"DS9 reports zat zey are not expected Commander and all attempts at communication have been unsuccessful. Ve are also cleared to depart ven ready." She reported.

"I think Ops decides if we're ready," Kali said cheerfully. "I'm Ops, by the way. Got promoted. You weren't here. Perfectly understandable for the confusion. But you're more than happy to take all the paperwork on my desk if you really want to do my job."

She waited until Engineering finally beeped. "Yup, we're cleared to go."

Nevir was about to speak when the doors open, and Kali walked through to her station, admittedly acting... outgoing?  Spring wine and kanar were certainly strong drinks to the uninitiated, and the Bajoran smirked.  He wasn't going to kick her off the bridge unless he had real reason to.

"Chief, you're half right.  Ops decides if we are ready, but Station Ops gives us clearance.  Filitov was just saying we have the clearance from Station Ops." he said, giving one last look before having a seat in the big chair.

"Ms. Reyes, make sure everyone is on board, and find out where Wu is.  Ms. Filitov, detach us and bring us about as soon as you have confirmation from the crew.  Marshall, shields up as soon as we leave." he said, tapping his badge.

"Tekin to Admiral Kirok, we have clearance, preparing for departure." he said, hoping that by the time the Admiral came out.. if he did, that they would be cleared of the station.  He did, afterall, have a personal stake in securing this sector.

"Continue to hail them until they answer.  I'd like to think that they are still part of the Federation."

Kirok had stopped by his Ready Room to meet with someone who did not show up at the party.  He hope to get a change to speak to him before they started their new mission and now would be the optimal time to do it.  So, he waited if only a short time while the Bridge crew prepared for the unknown.

=/\=Acknowledged and proceed, Mr. Nevir=/\= the half Vulcan replied after tapping his combadge.  Then he logged into his computer and typed in the name that had been mentioned in his vision.  'EQ Kimball' he typed and hit enter.

"Figures. Station Ops and I just don't get along," Kali raised her arms in a half-shrug. It was the docking procedure argument all over again. That man had it out for her, she was sure. At any rate, she turned on her heel. "Finding all the ducks now, Commander."

Her comm beeped just as she walked into the turbolift.

Chief, we've got an altercation in the crewman quarters.

Not again. "Phoenix again?" Merging two ships together and shaking up the command wasn't exactly the most peaceful transition to the prideful.

Actually, Crewman Heyshin did.

"Heyshin? That guy knows how to kick tail," Kali grumbled. "Get Yates to process the rosters." She gestured to the bridge. "Mind if I borrow a security officer? I'd like my riot gear automated." And she definitely wasn't coordinated to take on the Bruce Lee incarnate. Not without a sobriety hypo in advance.

Bridge

Katcha had been about to have a go at the Ops Chief for reporting for duty drunk and trying to tell her her job when Nevir corrected her and she left. Katcha nodded in response to Nevir's orders.

"Aye Kommander. All departments report ready. Activating thrusters." She reported, detaching the umbilicals and initiating the departure sequence. The external lights came on and the Discovery moved slowly away from the starbase.

As soon as they were 150 km from the station, Katcha activated the impulse drive and brought the ship about so they were ready to intercept the other ships.

"Ve are ready to inercept ze ozzer ships Kommander. Varp speed ready on your Kommand." She reported.
