Thank you. I'll take it. Keep trying what you've got. If needs be, look into old command codes in the Starfleet archives from Discovery. Maybe we might be able to find some old code that might work.

Vila brought the Captain up on the Viewscreen. She remained silent, glowering at the interruption to her work.

"The computers here don't understand Bajoran," she said. "Nor Russian, Mandarin, or Cardassian," she said. Those were the languages she spoke fluently-the Sol languages she'd learned when married to her human ex-husband. Because he said it was silly.

Her next idea was to run the access codes numerically-but that could take HOURS-there were infinite combinations of numbers. There had to be a better way.

Suddenly, she had an idea. "Say, what's the call sign for the Jupiter?" She asked Kinley. "1877? That's it!!"

She turned back around without further explanation, and typing furiously, she entered access code: NCC-187705JUP. She sat back, with a smirk, as the computers around her hummed to life, and the ship's systems woke up. No doubt a human coded that-a Bajoran would've been much more imaginative.

"Commander Garrison, all system are now online."

=/\= Miss Lachlan, Mr Gohun, Mr Dranik? Is there anything in the medbay that you've found? Can you figure out if there's any medical data left over from the past crew? "œ =/\= she asked, trying to get confirmation of where they were.

Hearing Lorut figure out how to hack the computer,  Kinley gave a whoop of excitement. "œHeck yeah! Great job!" Taking a moment to compose herself, because she was technically in charge and had to keep proprietary appearances up, she refocused, "œThis is awesome!  I've never flown a ship, but I think we can get her going now, somehow. We'll figure it out-.  "

She was cut off by a voice across the intercom. It reminded her of the ship's Computer, except this computer wasn't the monotone, sterile voice they were used . It was almost wailing throughout the ship.

Why are you desecrating this grave?! Haven't you had enough hurting my crew?

Looking around, at the others at the bridge, Kinley turned on her tricorder to record what she was hearing. She was pretty sure everyone was hearing that.

[Medbay]
Coming into the pristine-looking medbay, all that could be seen was empty bio-beds and medical tools, seemingly unmoved since the last members of the ship were here. However, like the rest of the ship, there were no bones, no remains of the dead. The EMH flickered into appearance, somberly moving to the rest of the crew almost seeming to be stating the names of the fallen crew , not noticing the officers coming in. "œ-Crewman Trevora, Stardate of vaporization: 22714.9037, Lieutenant T'Rith; Stardate of vaporization"¦"œ He finally seemed to notice the incoming crew. "œHello, Please state the nature of your medical emergency."œ

[As Kinley]
[Bridge]

"œ Intriguing. Like maybe they didn't want us dead, just off the ship. Why, I'm not sure. Something definitely to think about. "œ she said.
As the ship computer warmed up, Kinley heard Vila mention that the ship was receiving a hail.
"œ Thank you. I'll take it. Keep trying what you've got. If needs be, look into old command codes in the Starfleet archives from Discovery. Maybe we might be able to find some old code that might work. "œ

Kinley picked up the hail from the Discovery. It was Tekin, and he looked serious. The Discovery was facing the same thing that killed the crew of the Jupiter ? That wasn't good at all.

=/\= "œ Acknowledged, sir. I have a team scoping out the medbay right now. Will check up with them immediately. So far the away team is negative on any symptoms of what the Jupiter had. Likely since we're still in our suits. We're still working on getting the ship ready to fly. The computer systems are proving hard to work with. Can you send us some old codes from the archives? We'll keep you updated.=/\=

Tapping immediately on her commbadge, she asked Tanner. =/\= This is Garrison here. Have you found anything in medbay? We need to get the EMH's records asap.=/\=

[USS Discovery - Deck 1 - Main Bridge]

"Acknowledged, don't rely on the suits.  Whatever it was traveled through our shields, hulls, and filters... and it looks like it did the same over there.  Work as quickly as you can." he said, watching as Lorut was able to figure out the ship's registry and reactivate the computer systems.  Nevir couldn't help but smile at the viewscreen.

"Excellent work, I'm transmitting complete security clearance codes now." he stated, tapping on his chair.  On the Jupiter, the tactical, security, and command terminals flashed and opened fully, allowing full use as if they were Captain level officers.

"I'm giving you guys an hour to get her propulsion online and moving under her own power.  I'm not liking the reading I'm getting from the star.  Captain out." he stated, closing the channel. Once the view of the Jupiter's bridge was replaced by the nebula in front of them, the crew was treated to colors of ionizing gases... an aurora.

"One hour... then we take our chances with the tractor beam or scuttle the ship."

At about the same time as the computer on the Jupiter came to life booming to the away team, a power surge seemed to hit discovery, causing the lights to flicker, consoles to beep, and a shudder in the ship.  And something else....

"What was that?"

M'Nia

Upon hearing the computer voice M'nia remarked, "Oh that's not creepy at all ! The ships computer wants us off the ship!" Still she wondered why it was acting like this. What had gotten into it? could it have evolved somehow into full blown sentience? If so what role did it have in what happened to the crew? This whole thing begged more questions. Questions she wished she had the answer to!

"We've just entered deck 7. We've split up to check the morgue, med bay and I'm headed to the pathology lab right now." Tanner spoke as she walked along the empty coridoor. Rounding the corner she saw the marked doors for the lab and her pace quickened. Surely someone had been working on the issue at hand and had left notes.

Reaching the door she pressed the button to enter. It chirped loudly at her. Again, she tried and again, she was denied.

"Uh, can anyone help me out? The lab is locked." Tanner was about to continue when the voice spoke.

Why are you desecrating this grave?! Haven't you had enough hurting my crew?

She froze. Grave. This ship was absolutely empty but a grave held a body.

"Uhm," She shook her head, clearing the temporary fear, "Any help on this would be appreciated."

The communication was loud and clear and it was through the entire ship. The away team were unwelcome guests on the ship. They were like bacteria in a living organism. Gohun was unsure if the ship had any defenses like a body would but it would not but out of the realm of possibility. If a ship had medical holograms why not security holograms? That did not matter as Gohun made his way to the med bay with the medical hologram and the rest of his team.

She gazed at Garrison. Her first instinct was to open fire at the console but that would ruin her work. Instead, she took on her best "ex-wife" voice, the same one she'd used when Ben was acting stupid. "We are here to help." The screen in front of her wobbled, but luckily, it didn't turn off.

"The Comms system is probably messed up. I'll run a scan," she said. An hour to have ALL systems up and running AND run a scan?! Couldn't be done. He was crazy. Maybe the Cardassians had messed with his brain like they had with her reproductive system.

"I'll do what I can," she said.

Lek flinched when the voice blasted through the comm system.

"Like we need this situation to get any creepier."

He growled as he watched the plasma temperature reach initiation levels and slowly began to feed anti-matter into the warp core, which began to thrum with power.

"Keep your eye on the plasma temp M'Nia, we should have full warp power in less than ten minutes."

The Jupiter might be old, but her systems seemed sound and they'd be warp capable very soon, creepy voice or not.

Just as Dem was going to recommend these two officers vacate the bridge, his combadge beeped. "œBetaika to Broadshire. We have had a massive influx of patients from decks one, two and three. They virus may somehow be in the air filtration system". Without missing a beat, Dem paced to the nearest environmental control systems panel, conveniently nearby to the two sluggish pilots. "œI am shutting down and rebooting the biofilters in these decks. Don't worry, have enough air in circulation for the moment." Dem swallowed nervously, noticing slight scratchiness when he did. Hoping it was just his mind, he pressed on. After he had successfully started the reboot process, Dem noticed his hands were shaking and his breath was sharp and rapid. While he would like to blame it on this mystery virus, he knew it was his nerves. He hit the control panel softly with his fist, whispering "œpull it together Dem".

He wasn't a scientist or an engineer, so he didn't really know what had just occurred - but it probably wasn't good. The captain asked what it was, but Malik's terminal had little to offer.

"It appears to have been a power surge of some kind, captain, the origin *cough* I'm unable to determine. It doesn't appear to have caused any damage to the ship. *cough cough*."

He then turned to the ship's doctor, "Doc, if there's a treatment you can give us to get rid of this sickness please do. My throat feels dry as sand."

[USS Jupiter-Pathology Lab(Locked)]

Come from Starfleet? Whatever was making this sorrowful cry wasn't Starfleet?

Tanner stared at the lab door. Her father's drifting through her thoughts as she pondered taking apart the door and attempting to bypass it. Almost everyone in Security had extensive training on how to get through a door if someone locked you out. Growing up as a troubled kid who liked to get into places she wasn't allowed also afforded her some knowledge that wasn't entirely routine.

But would anything really useful be in the lab? The computer they'd accessed would have the same data and unless there were specimens, she'd be wasting her time. Tanner rethought the current action and turned about.

"I'm going to rejoin the others in the morgue." She said quickly over comms, "I'll report back what we find."

[USS Jupiter- Morgue]

"We have bodies." Tanner said quietly, "Lots of them."

Ships morgues weren't designed for the entire crew so mathmatically they had to be elsewhere or disposed of but every drawer so opened in this morgue, had a body in it.

She closed the drawer that was just opened and said curiously, "Computer, activate emergency medical hologram."

The warp core came online and Lek gave a big toothy grin. They'd done it! The Jupiter was warp capable again and could be brought home under her own power.

However, the voice that spoke over the comm system crushed any celebration before it could start and the implication of what was said frankly caused Lek great concern.

"I'm not certain this is possible, but the ship is acting like it's self-aware. I don't know what Starfleet will do about a sentient ship."

All of that was beyond Lek's concern as he contacted Kinley.

Dranik looked up in alarm as he heard the voice over the Comn system.

What in the name of the great hunt was that?! Dranik thought as he looked over at his team. All three of them looked just as confused and alarmed. Even Korvox looked nervous. "Sir. I know we've done quite a few training simulations but I don't seem to recall one that covers this kind of situation." Dranik shot him a glare for a brief moment and had to admit that he was correct. The Klingon was just trying to cover his nervousness. "Fair point."

Slowly it seemed that the Bridge was being overtaken by the ill as he started hearing and seeing symptoms in his bridge crew.  There was something different.. there had to be.

"Computer... initiate Condition Blue, biohazard alert Level 3.  Set all essential systems to automated control."

=/\= ATTENTION, ATTENTION.  Blue Alert Level 3 has been initiated.  All non-medical, non-senior officers and lower are to report to their quarters for quarantine.  Bio-isolation fields will be initiated in 20 minutes.  =/\=

"Malik, Alex, and Dem, you remain here.  The rest of you return to your quarters now.  That means you too, Rayek." the Captain ordered, clearing the bridge.  The four of them were already infected, but he needed someone to stand by in case of a systems error.

Another shudder, as a wave of solar energy impacted the dorsal shields.  They had fallen, but they were still holding steady.
