[Innominatum Outpost - Interrogation Room]

Sven nodded. The Andorian had a point, but there was another point that had Sven worried. The point of a shank.

"That sounds like a good idea in theory, but I'm concerned that your life will be put in danger doing that. Klingons have been known to harbor grudges and I'd hate to see you get hurt. But if you think you can handle it, then the risk is on you. Any information would be good." the beefy security officer said.

He walked the Andorian out of the room, and placed him in the cell with the male Klingon.
"I don't care for your lip, Andorian. Looks to me like we're going to have to double up cells for a bit."

Lahr glared at the Starfleet officer, motioning rudely towards the Lieutenant as Aune walked away.  Then he turned to Klingon.  "Human stupidity amazes me.  Right?"

The male Klingon.. Lahr still hadn't learned the brutes name.. eyed the Andorian angrily.  Lahr held up his hands to show he was defenseless.  "Hey don't blame me.  I tried to tell the guy you weren't involved.  Hell, I'm not even involved.  This is all a big misunderstanding, y'know.   As for the drugs.. well, ain't my fault you and the misses decided to rob me of my product.  Kinda grateful for it now or it'd be me up for charges on possession of illegal drugs.   That would get me drummed outta the service and there would go half my clientele.   So.. Thanks for that!"

Lahr's comment enraged the Klingon and the guy took a swing at Lahr.  The Andorian had been intending to let the blow hit but at the last second he spotted the glint of metal in the Klingon's had.  The male had fashioned himself or hid on his person somehow.. a shiv.  Oh hell no!

Lahr stumbled back dodging the attack. Then kicked out towards the side of the man's left knee with all his force.  This had the effect of bringing the large male down and off-balance to the side.  Lahr dodged around and kicked at the man's hand to drop the shiv, even as he wrapped an arm around the Klingon's neck.

"Andorian warriors are taught from childhood how to take down and kill foes larger and stronger than them." he lied trying to intimidate the Klingon.   The move was actually part of his Starfleet training and was intended for subduing non-lethally.  "You really shouldn't test how much I remember from my youth.  Look, I played along with the beating before but seriously... the shiv - that's too much.  I want out from under Lek's thumb...He doesn't appreciate my talents.  I figure your boss is the way to do it, so you're gonna spill so I can make some real money.

At this point, Lahr released the Klingon and dove for the shiv picking it up, yet tucking it away in his jacket So let's talk... "

Sukal

Quote

[Sickbay - Innominatum]

[As NPC Dr. Maggie York, CMO Challenger]

Maggie held up a restraining hand, gently pushing Sukal back into the biobed but raising the top of it so he could sit up while still being in a resting pose.  She totally understood his ire.  To anyone that used their mind, this was a violation, almost like rape but mentally.

"Don't shoot the messenger!" she said with a wry smile.  "I haven't got a lot of information but I'm guessing by '...that treacherous witch...' you're referring to Lt. Commander Amoreen.  I'm only going on what Lena said, and a lot of this is surmise but she's either dead or in some way off the Outpost and Challenger as there's no life sign for her.  That's the only way we found you... life sign.  Not sure where your commbadge is.  Now first, I'm going to give you..." Maggie held up a hypo.  "15ccs of Triptacederine to help get rid of that headache of yours.  I know she must have attacked you via your mind.  Now this is strictly between you and me... under normal circumstances I would not be letting you walk out of this Sickbay.  However, desperate times, desperate measures. And I know you'd discharge yourself anyhow so... providing you don't try running around, and promise to delegate where you can, I'll let you go.  I know you'll want answers, I'm letting you go get them.  I'll come with you up to the Challenger as I don't think there's anything left to be done down here."

She administered the Triptacederine and stood back.  "OK... here we go."

Sukal was still furious after the CMO administered the hypo, but the fact that she was going to let him carry out his duties was at least something to sooth the infuriated First Officer.

"Thank you," he told her genuinely even as the headache began to dissipate.  He stood up resolute if a bit slow, and made his way with her to the docking area where the CHALLENGER was currently waiting.  It took longer to get there than he wanted, but that only served to allow him time to focus and calm his emotions.  The young Vulcan/Betazoid did not like being angry.  Emotions were okay to a degree, but that was one in particular he would rather have avoided.

USS CHALLENGER
Bridge

On to the bridge he strode with measured deliberate strides, and made his way to the command chair.  "Lieutenant Taray, take your station.  We are going after a Lieutenant Commander D'leha Amoreen," he instructed the Security Chief as he relieved her of command.  =/\= "Innominatum Station, this is Lieutenant Commander Sukal.  I have taken command of the CHALLENGER.  Release all docking clamps, and maintain Red Alert.  I want all the Ambassadors to understand we are in pursuit of the assassin, and hope to have the situation resolved." =/\=

=/\= "Acknowledged, CHALLENGER.  Docking clamps released.  You are clear to maneuver.  Station status will remain at Red Alert.  Message from the Captain states the USS BELFAST was able to rescue them, and they arrived safely at DS9." =/\=

=/\= "Noted. CHALLENGER, out." =/\=  "Helm, clear us away at one-quarter impulse power, and then pursuit course at best maximum speed.  I want that shuttle caught!" came his next order after closing the channel with the station.  There was a new edge in his voice that had not been there before as he took the center seat once Taray vacated.

"We have cleared, Station, Sir.  Pursuing at Warp Eight on heading 002 Mark 117," the helmsman answered.  Sukal could not recall anyone's name currently on duty beyond Taray's, but that did not bother him at the moment.  All that mattered was catching D'leha.  Leyton was bad enough, but this was more personal for the First Officer.

He had been in charge of the Conference, and not only had an Ambassador been assassinated, but he had lost several personnel in the process and an Ambassadorial Aide.  He, himself, had almost been killed.  D'leha Amoreen had been right about one thing.  He was dangerous, but never as much as he was at this very moment.

When they arrived at the location of the shuttle - it was to find it on autopilot.  D'leha Amoreen was nowhere to be found aboard, and all the sensor logs of the shuttle had been completely erased.  Wherever she had disappeared to - she was gone now.  The only thing they were able to find was a Federation transporter signature.  She had been beamed away by a Federation ship, but who had taken her away from them?  Leyton?  Had she been working for him this whole time?  Or, after realizing she was likely caught; had decided to join him since she would be a hunted woman now?  Or, were they missing something.

Unable to find the assassin; Sukal ordered the ship back to the outpost.  He would recall all personnel to get the CHALLENGER fully staffed, and deal with the repercussions with the Ambassadors.  His meeting with Ambassador Veesha did not go well, and she filed an incompetence report with her superiors both in Starfleet and the Federation Council.  Sukal knew he would be lucky to remain as Ruth's XO after such, and certainly wouldn't be seeing a promotion anytime soon.  His meeting with Praetor Aedile went more smoothly, and though Veesha was reluctant - she agreed a base within Reman territory would be beneficial to the Federation, and certainly would throw Leyton off.  Thus, the agreement was signed.

Until the return of the Captain; Sukal met with the rest of the Ambassadors who were willing to give information to Starfleet on possible locations for Leyton.  One of them, Alyssa Winslow of the Sapphire Conglomerate, even went so far as to tell Sukal of a dangerous facility inside a nebula where she believed Leyton was holding hostages for some kind of experiment.  It was rumored to also have some very advanced cybernetics lab - which made Sukal all the more curious.

"Tell me Mr. Gohun... where you learnt your engineering skills.  Is that something you would prefer to do, if there is the opportunity we could have you work with Mr. Lek sometimes.  And remind me Mr. Litt, which department was it you wanted to cross train in?"

Gohun looked over and spoke " While in training for Star Fleet I took the Starfleets Engeneering program with my eventual goal being the chief engineer on a starship. "

Ruth stepped out of the airlock and onto the main Customs of DS9 resisting the urge to bend down and kiss the decking.

After completing repairs on the runabout Gohun goes to the quarters that he is assigned and reads over the logs. Murder intrigue and all other shenanigans. Looks like I missed out on a lot. In truth, he was going to examine the sabotage that happened on the way here because they had to be connected somehow. Or at least that is what his gut was telling him at this moment.
