[Innominatum Outpost - Conference Room 2]

Lahr waited to be dismissed; but even as the Captain did so - in her atypical way she gave him additional orders and alternatives to his orders.   'So did she want him at the meeting, yes or no?' the Andorian puzzled.

Then she further confused him by delaying his dismissal further to introduce him to the new Security officer, Lt Aune.  Lahr looked over to the man named and nodded to the large human. "Sir." he acknowledged the introduction.

Then he turned back to the Captain to respond to her seat adjustment request.  The wink giving him pause.  Normally he would delegate the task now but her wink, which he hoped no one else saw, suggested that it had something to do with his 'special assignment'.

"I'll see the the seat adjustment personally, after speaking with Commander Sukal, ma'am... assuming I am dismissed..?"

Following his dismissal, Lahr went over to where the Lt Commander was preparing for the next meeting in Conference Room 1.

"Sir, the Captain suggested I update you on my assignment's progress so that I can resume my special assignment with Lieutenant Lek.  If I may, I would like to draft it into a written brief and sent it to you encrypted - to practice the encryption process. I can have it to you within 10 minutes."  He suggested this because he didn't want to chance being overheard talking about the drug-ring.

After getting permission to do this from the XO, Lahr went to find Lek.

"Captain gave us one more task to do before we are clear to ditch the Think Tank meeting.  Let's head to the Challenger shuttlebay."

[USS Challenger -  Shuttle Bay 1]

"Ah.. there she is.  The Mjolnir.  Captain asked me to adjust the height of her seat." As he said this he gave Lek a look that suggested he was meaning more than he was saying.  "She asked you to give the ship a check over.  You do that while I go adjust her seat."

[Conference Room 2 --> Shuttlebay - Innominatum Outpost]

Lek half listened to the conference as none of the discussion pertained to engineering. When the captain mentioned Lahr and her shuttle. He simply followed along figuring that based on the long trip she was about to take, she wanted to be certain the Delta Flyer was fully operational, which was a reasonable request and precaution.

On arrival, Lek had to admire the sleek shuttle designed by the legendary Tom Paris of the equally legendary USS Voyager. It was hard to imagine a ship stranded 75,000 light years from the Federation would have the ability to develop a shuttle with such capabilities that it was adopted by Starfleet. Such a design would have taken years to work through the BuShips process. He was impressed as he sat behind the controls and began his system checks as Lahr nattered on about the captain's seat height.

[Shuttle Mjolnir]

Leaving Lek to deal with checking out the readiness of the Captain's personal shuttle, Lahr moved on to the front to see about locating the 'drugs' the Captain said would be in the Flyer.  Because she'd been insistent on him adjusting her chair.  It seemed a safe bet it had something to do with them.  From behind, as he approached the chair didn't seem to need adjustment.  It was regulation height and if she'd wanted it adjusted specifically to her then she should have given him her specifics...which she didn't.

So what was the whole 'chair' thing about?  It had to do with their assignment..or so he guessed.  The wink, as lame as it was, was a dead give away.  Thinking he maybe needed to sit in the chair to activate some sort of secret compartment, Lahr moved up closer and only then saw the paper wrapped packet.  It was about the size of a brick.

"No way... just left out on the chair?" he murmured as he picked up the packet.  If he was wrong, he could get in trouble for opening the Captain's personal things... but she had specified the chair .. so this was a safe bet.

Opening one corner of the brick, he spotted the tablets inside and nodded.  This was it.  After today he was a drug-dealer.  Regardless that it was to stop a worse drug-ring and that the drugs were supposed to be not harmful or addictive - his distributing them, made him one of the lower-dregs of society.

Lahr moved to a nearby gear locker and borrowed a work satchel and tucked the drugs into there for the moment.  The Andorian returned to the back section of the shuttle and looked to Lek.  "I got the chair adjustment done.  How long you need here?"

[Conference Room 2 > Conference Room 1 - Innominatum Outpost]

"Those of you who have not yet been dismissed and we need to discuss Challenger things with..." Ruth made her voice audible enough above the rabble of people hanging around talking. "Please people, you should all have enough to be getting on with and if you don't should you really be wasting your free time?  I can always find you something to do..." she teasingly threatened.

"Can we move over to next door as I believe someone has booked out this room, one of the delegates wanting to get their speeches right I think..." She wasn't going to add, since everyone that was on the Think Tank was savvy enough to realise that anyone could walk into Conference Room TWO but Room ONE was sealed and only those with the biometrics, or having been specially cleared and going in with a member of the Think Tank would be able to access.  Similarly, all the work that had been going on over the last few weeks would  be on the databanks there ready to pull up, not something she had the resources for in this room so readily.

[Conference Room 1 - Innominatum Outpost]

Once everyone was in the room, including Sven and the new Crewman Gohun who she'd nodded in since going forward he was going to have to know about things to help on the Challenger where he'd been assigned.  Ideally she would have liked to have had a meeting with him but that's the way the cookie crumbled and she had way too much dough for her to have time to bake it all if she were to continue that metaphor, in the time that she had before she was off to DS9.

She called the meeting to order quickly since she really wanted to get on and get the last minute things she had to do personally done before she went off.

"Right, I'm afraid this is going to be very brief, but rather quick so you might want to set your PADDs to record so you don't miss anything.  I will try to answer any questions for about 30 mins at the end, but I do have other meetings to attend.  I'll say my piece and then give each department or group the floor to deliver any reports I'm not deputising for.  As always, help yourselves at the replicator so long as you're not disruptive."

Ruth set off at breakneck speed not allowing anyone to brook any refusal to her plans.  She needed to be no nonsense here so she could get done and off for other things straight away.

"Right since Lt. Taray and CPO Maghouin and their teams have more than enough to do I have given them permission to get on and do since they've already given me their report with the exception of Ensign Walding and Crewman Gohun who has just joined us - welcome, I hope we get to know you a little at the twins leaving and belated birthday party tomorrow night - ..." the Captain waved a vague hand at the Crewman and gave a smile so that all could figure to whom she was referring.  "As you all should know from the previous briefing, we have a massive conference going on, starting after the weekend.  I shall be away for 9 days of it but I leave the ship and station in the capable hands of Lt.Commander Sukal, Lt. Tempest - for Challenger, and CPO Maghouin - for Innominatum. I will be taking a crew with me consisting of the following: Myself, my sisters, Dr. Chang, Ensign Litt and either Ensign Walding or Crewman Gohun dependant upon whomever isn't rota'd to work the conference.  The Mjolnir has a maximum crew capacity of 6."

She motioned to Arya, who was sat closest to the replicator and made signs for a large glass of ice water.  Arya fetched it quickly, and Ruth took a large swig of it, sighing appreciatively and giving her sister a wink.

"So please give your support to Mr. Sukal, Lt. Tempest and CPO Maghouin, work together as a team.  Since we're dealing with Security I'm happy to report that Customs is now up and running smoothly and all systems working, and the joint Security/Ops/Think Tank Team 'drug ring' is a go... which is where some of our members are at the moment.  Lt. Aune, if you do 'arrest' Mr. Lek or Mr. ch'Verret... they are working undercover so make a show of it but y'know they're on our side, don't rough them up too much!!" she said with a small laugh.

"Mentioning Mr. Lek leads me on perfectly to Engineering, and Mr. Lek assures me that Challenger is fully operational, so anything that Science has to go on with the wormhole jumping, please I beg don't break anything or he'll hate me forever! But on the plus side, if you and Ops have worked out some possible locations, we're good to go once the conference is over."

Another drink and a quick check of notes.

"I think that's it from me, other than to say Lt. Commander Sukal and I will be meeting with various delegates, not least Praetor Aedile from the Reman Empire.  We are hoping that both privately and as a common goal of the Conference various delegates will be offering help with capturing Leyton.  If not, we still have that as a primary objective... reel in Leyton.  I'm going to hand over to Lt. Dradis for a report from Flight." she said with a curt nod at the Flight Chief and sat down.

Dradis had been mostly pretending to be awake, he'd been taking enough information in but not a whole lot, it was being recorded and there wasn't a lot to be said for the Flight Department.  He envied Ensign Litt a little getting the DS9 'gig'... but the kid deserved it, he'd been head down and doing for the last month or so.

He stood up, bashing his knee on the underside of the table and cursing under his breath.

"Ah yes, erm, Flight... ah..."  he rubbed his knee vigorously and cleared his throat.  He caught the Captain's 'get on with it!' look and took a deep breath nodding at her.

"As you mentioned, Ensign Litt is to be accompanying you on the trip to DS9.  Good Luck at Academy girls, you'll be missed.  I have a small gift for you I'll give at the party.  Ah... all small craft and obviously Challenger have been serviced, all flight worthy and navigation controls been checked.  We have been working with Ops and mapped out the best route we think to investigate the places they and Sciences have identified as possible hideout/stronghold locations for Leyton.  We didn't at the time know about offers of help from the Remans or the Klingons or anything but if we have the locations of these factions we can factor them in easily enough.  I think someone mentioned that the Reman homeworld isn't too far from where we came back through from dealing with the USS Redav so that's fair enough and I believe you said you'd only be away 9 days, so if that goes to plan, I'll have Mr. Litt here, once Mr. Sukal and yourself have had your dealings with the various delegates and the Conference is wound up, we can have a list of who's helping and, Richard and I can work in the pit stops and who we can call on at what points... is that agreeable?!"

The Captain gave a deep nod of the head.

"Did you want to add anything Mr. Litt?  I know you're coming with me to DS9 and get to try out the Mjolnir but you've been working with Mr. Dradis and with Sciences and Ops... sometimes others have different perceptions, ideas etc."

She gave Litt space to answer and then handed over to Medical.

Maggie looked at Dradis and nodded to Dr. Chang. "Dr. Chang, can you check Mr. Dradis's knee please, make sure he's not cracked his patella. Thanks!"

Turning her attention to the Captain she smiled.  "Well, I have to say I'm impressed.  95% of the medicals have been completed, and those that haven't are people who have just come in, or that had medicals in the last 3 months and we could happily write them off and concentrate on other things.  So that's out of the way. No lasso-ing and roping in of Command Staff needed!"  she said with a grin.

"Thanks to the arrival of Dr. Chang, and the help of Dr. Al-Hambra on the Outpost, we managed to plough through them at top speed, iron out any problems... there were a few but none for our Challenger crew that weren't pre-existing conditions with prosthetics and so on as previously agreed and ongoing treatments so all good.  The 'extra' time we had, was put to good use reading all the data that Dr. Vaughan left us, and a few subspace messages to confer with her - she sends her best regards and love to everyone, she's having a great time where she is incidentally - and we think we have a conclusive way to break the brainwashing without harming the patient at all, we also think we might have cracked somewhere that they might be using as the base for the brainwashing.  I don't however think he'll be there, but we need to shut that down too.  That we think is somewhere in the Setisar Nebula region."

The doctor paused.  "I don't know if that falls in with anywhere you located Mr. Dradis, or Mr. Sukal... there have been rumours of an abandoned Science Facility out there for a long while, I don't know if Mr. Tempest knows anything of that.  I also know of naturally occurring Strobolin plants on Bringloid, Mariposa, Il'Zyyr'aam, Loren and 47 Cancri. Loren also has deposits of the drug that was in the 2nd lot of drugs we had, and importantly... that parasite we isolated."

"I think Mr. Tempest and Mr. Sukal would probably have more to say about locations..." she said, hopefully.  "Unless Mr. Chang has something to add, I know that he'll be with you on your trip, but he's been helping us..?  Oh and I'll ping you the rota for the roving medical teams Mr. Sukal."

"Are you sent from the Captain?"  a voice called out.  It was a Flight cadet holding a PADD.  "Just could you let her know that a 'Lt. Farquar Deuchar' some dude in charge of shift up on Innominatum said if we could liaise with you checking out this one we could just send one report, oh and let her know that the luggage from M-482xD4..." he say checking the PADD for the reference to the locator tag. "...has been checked in.  Since it's so much I'm guessing that it's the younger Sigurdsdottir's stuff for Academy."

When Lahr and Lek undo the brick of drugs they will find writing on the inside of the packet.  It is a note from the Captain:

Gentlemen -

Thank you for doing this, please check TT message for further instructions.

- Freya

If they turn on PADDs they will find a 'Message from Freya' in their Think Tank encrypted messages.

'If you have opened this message I trust you have been to the hammer first and found the package.  You have the code names of D'ling and Mag'ni (OOC FYI - these are derivatives of the lesser Norse gods Delling and Magni - the first is the dayspring or the shining one" Delling is the God of sunrise, I thought with his blue skin and white hair this suited Lahr being like a sunshine day, Magni appeals to Ferengi's superiority complexes as it means 'mighty'!) The goods are simply 100mg of amitriptyline mixed 50/50 with Sodium Chloride and various flavour crystals... which is part of the game... could be vanilla, could be raw gagh!  Two free samples per customer, then set whatever price Mag'ni thinks is good.  Good luck and please report back to me. - Freya"

As the meeting dismissed and moved to the otherside, Sven took up the handle on Eursus' harness and walked her over to the other room. He found a seat, and upon sitting was hit with a wave of nausea. It was getting really old fast, and though his doctor assured him that it would get better over time, it wasn't and he was quickly approaching a resolution for more surgery. Be as it may, he would continue to do his job.

The curious Andorian was in on the plot along with another crewmen he hadn't met yet. The funny thing was, was he had experience with making a show of an arrest. He had done so back on the Athena flushing out members of the Liberation.

He nodded understanding and acceptance to the captain.

Sukal listened intently as others gave their report once they had moved to the secured room for their work.  When it was brought up about the abandoned Science Outpost - Sukal remembered something in his investigation regarding such.  It was not the only thing he had heard about, but he wondered if such a place shouldn't be investigated personally by the CHALLENGER.  Of course, such things would have to wait until after the Conference, but it was something to consider.  Flight seemed to be in good shape - not that he was overly surprised by such.  Chief Dradis did well leading his department.

He turned to the Captain before answering with his own report, "My own research has found a variety of places which is possible for Leyton to use as either a base of operations, or a place of interest at the least.  Of them, this Science Station mentioned is possibly located near Loren as this is a place where the drugs came from at least once.  Such a station was reported to have been quarantined by the Federation for a virus, and was located not far from Loren in the Setisar Nebula.  I believe we should look into this place at some point soon after the Conference.  Certainly those places mentioned should fall under our scrutiny as well, but there are others I have grown curious about since looking into this matter.  Of them, The Crimson Nebula and the Fen Domar Theocracy have my attention the most.  Two of Starfleet's vessels disappeared in or around the Crimson Nebula.  Strangely enough, the Fen Domar Theocracy has never had a single starship investigate it since two years prior to the civil war.  Indeed, there are seven incidents where a Federation starship was given the task of exploring the area for Leyton, but then called away for one reason or another.  Each time, the task was never completed, and no starship was ever given the assignment twice.  I find both of these incidents strange, but the latter one more so.  Still, I believe we cannot simply assume he is in either place.  I will not bore you with the details of my continued investigation as I know we have much to do."

[Conference Room 1 - Innominatum Outpost]

Ruth gave a short bark of a laugh and followed it with a grin.  "Looks like we're looking in the right areas then people!  I think we have a plan forming!"  she looked hopeful and very proud of her crew.

"Mr. Tempest, anything to add? What do you know of this facility we've mentioned? And Sukal, I'll have Science, Ops and Flight report to you a possible flight plan once we've had our meetings.  We'll have a few days at the end of the month after the Conference for things to be finalised with our flight path!"

"Thank you Mr. Litt.  Actually, I have just the job for you if Mr. Dradis can spare you.  For that matter, Mr. Dradis you seem fond of my sisters, and I know you'll both keep them safe if you fancy something more 'fun' to do between the end of this meeting and us leaving for DS9....The girls' party is being held in one of the smaller holosuites, and with certain provisos, I have said they can have pretty much what they want... if you want to help program it and get it all decorated and make sure everyone that should be invited is... I'd be grateful.  I'd do it myself but there are only so many ways a Captain can split herself and I rather think you deserve some fun!" Ruth said with a grin.

"If Mr. Lek and Mr. ch'Verret are finished the little task I set them, and you happen to run across them or want to invite them to help I know Lahr especially I can see him throwing a heck of a party!" she said with a wink at the girls.  She knew both had a soft spot for the Andorian.

[Innominatum Outpost · Conference Room 1]

Litt gave a little smile when the Captain said about how Chief Dradis look about the Captain's sisters and nodded his head, agreeing with that statement. But it didn't take long, and Richard had looked back to the Captain.

"Ma'am... You can count on me... If Chief Dradis let me go..." Then, he looked at the girls. "I'll be happy to help your sisters to prepare their party." He said with a big smile in his face. He didn't remember the last time he was at a party, and the opportunity to help to prepare one was awesome.

[Conference Room 1 - Innominatum]

[AS Dradis]

"I think we can manage that Ma'am, girls..." Dradis said with a wink to the twins.  "So pole-dancers, no strippers unless certain members of the crew become more intoxicated than normal..."  he trailed off with a laugh and held up a hand.  "It's ok, we won't make it a Risian pleasure den, and I hope neither of you are wanting pink.  I don't do pink..."

[AS Arya]

"Are kittens ok?  I wanted some kittens to cuddle..." Arya piped up.

[As Katya]

"Snakes!"

"Petting Zoo in one corner as far away from food and the bar as possible, no spiders, I'll allow if it keeps you two quiet."  Ruth said rolling her eyes.  "Can we please get back on track.  If no one has anything further to say we'll adjourn Mr. Dradis and Mr. Litt, girls - you may go off to prepare for the party, anyone else that doesn't have anything to do or is off duty can go to help if you wish.  Mr Aune, I think you wanted to check the Mjolnir if you're feeling ok..."

Ruth had noticed that Stryker looked a little fatigued, and hoped that he was fine.

"Mr Gohun, if you'd give me a few moments of your time before shooting off, I'd be grateful.  This room is as always available to those in the Think Tank, if there's nothing more we'll reconvene 2 days after the end of the Conference by which time we will have a clearer idea of our allies and offers of help and can plan our flight plan accordingly."

The Captain turned to Tempest and Dr. York.  "If you could please research this Science facility that was mentioned and get as much info as possible about it I'd be grateful.  I want to know if there was actually a virus or if that was something made up to keep people away.  Sukal, I believe you have a list of the ships that Mr ch'Verret isolated as warp signatures, and the Romulan Science Vessel that was hanging around.  My gut feelings are rarely wrong, I'm sure that was there for the Redav but whether friend or foe remains to be seen... see if you can find out her flight path and see if any of the missions for the ships mentioned take them anywhere near this Science base or other locations that you, Science and Medical have identified.  Then send them over to Mr. Dradis so we can start plotting a best route.  Mr. Dradis once we have the list of allies we'll forward that to you but you may definitely put a pit stop of the Reman home planet on your list since I have already spoken to Praetor Aedile about that on a subspace conference call and details will follow in the meeting with her tomorrow.  So everyone,  other than Mr. Gohun... dismiss, I'll see you all at the party tomorrow night! Dr. Chang, Mr. Litt, Mr. Gohun, girls... I'd like you to come to my office on Challenger 3 hours before the party, I shall ping you if the venue changes, just a quick meeting prior to us leaving and Mr. Litt could you log our flight plan to DS9 with Control please.  Thank you."

[Conference Room 2 - Innominatum

"Day after tomorrow, 0800hrs.  I have a meeting tomorrow I must attend, not that I want to get out of it either, with Praetor Aedile sometime during the day tomorrow, and then the twins belated birthday cross leaving party tomorrow night, so a couple of anti-intoxidant hypos might be useful as there will be real alcohol around, and I'm not going to be putting the damper on a good party!" Ruth answered smiling.

"I don't envision any injuries either other than cramp and severe cases of numb butt. Mjolnir is 21 meters long however... so should be able to stretch our legs somewhat."

[Conference Room - Inominatum]

He laughed. "Well, I'll head down to the shuttle now, Captain." He finished the rest of his tea and headed off.

[Conference Room > Turbolift - Inominatum]

Chang waited for the turbolift out in the hallway. The doors opened and two crewmen stepped out. He made way for them then stepped in. "Shuttlebay." There was a slight whir, and then the doors hissed open again and he stepped out.

[Turbolift > Shuttlebay - Inominatum]

He stepped into the shuttlebay and looked at all the containers stacked neatly, and all the shuttles parked. He scanned around and saw the shuttle with the word 'Mjolnir' in bold black letters. He walked over to it and got in.

[Shuttle MJOLNIR]

"Cozy, and enough room to walk around and have a stretch. Just like the Captain said." He thought to himself. He sat down and opened a compartment under his seat which contained a basic first-aid kit. He took it out and sat it on his lap. He opened it and looked at what was inside... some hyposprays, bandages... the usual stuff. He closed it and placed it back in the compartment under the seat and headed to his quarters.

[Shuttlebay > Chang's Quarters]

He got into his room and kicked his shoes off. He walked over to his bed and lay down, to sleep.
