[NPC - Medical Wing]

Breathlessly, the Scientists spoke, outlining the details of what had to be done to formulate a viable cure. It was, in fact, very similar to the forumula that Doc Vaughan had been testing already, just slightly more refined and a few changes to the base sequence. The scientist also waved a PADD wildly, as he tried to get across just how urgent this information was. It was airborne, could spread just as fast as the disease, and could be absorbed on contact. The only issue now was finding enough of the medication to get it distributed to all the people who needed it. As the scientist finished explaining, he doubled over in a coughing fit and lay prone by the door. The excess effort and exertion of the run had caused his blood to pump faster, and the disease to spread quickly into his body.

Dylan didn't pay attention to the words the Doctor said, and frankly, he didn't care. She had said the one thing that saved their lives - She'd found the cure. He slumped into his chair, before tapping his commbadge again. =/\= Understood, Doctor. But I cannot release medical lockdown. I'm sure you understand. Get to work. =/\= he said, before opening a communique to Engineering.

=/\= Chief, abort that vent. Saturate the compartments with air, I want it to be as clear as possible for Medical to distribute their cure. Still... keep our sections isolated. Captain out. =/\= he said, although he did not disarm the self-destruct. He needed a fallback, in case this went horrendously wrong. Command terminals would indicate the self-destruct was armed and awating the code to execute, across the ship. Not an ideal situation, but what they had to work with.

"Mister Bradley, set course for the nearest Starfleet medical facility, maximum warp." he said, before opening up one last comm message to the entire ship. The all-hands tone played, before Dylan spoke. =/\= Attention all hands, this is the Captain. Medical has informed me that a cure has been located and divised. Remain as you are, and remain calm. Do not, under any circumstances, attempt to break quarintine. We've set course for a Starfleet medical facility, and will arrive shortly. This'll all be over soon. Just remain calm, and remain as you are. Bridge out. =/\= he said, before looking around the Bridge.

"We may make it through this one after all."

Scott felt the tensions flush out of his body, his posture immediately reflecting this, he let out a deep breath, before pulling up his navigation charts, and finding the nearest medical facility. His muscle memory had been well reactivated in his few shorts weeks at helm, and the Ship arced gracefully through space, Scotts prowess making the ship waltz through the stars.

" Aye sir, laying in course  and engaging. "

As soon as the ship had came about to her heading, Scott fired up the warp drive and like a derby winner bolting out of a gate, the Challenger was on her way. The Stars whizzed by the viewscreen, but Scott's attention wasn't on the wonders of the galaxy as the usually were, but the readout which  indicated the ship was still primed for self destruct.

" Not out of the woods yet. "

Lek ordered the engineering staff to stand by as he replied to the captain's order.

"Aye Sir! Increasing O2 by twenty-five percent. I would advise all hands be especially cautious with open flames to prevent very unpleasant reactions with the new atmo mix."

"Captain's Log, Supplemental.

The Challenger has arrived at Medical Outpost Thirty-one Gamma. Upon arrival, we underwent an extensive medical examination, though due to the quick actions of Doctor Vaughan and her staff, only twelve persons on board were lost. We've been released from quarantine, and await further orders.

News from the front is sparse- though it appears we are gaining ground. I can't say I'm too excited to get back into the fray, but we go where the Fleet needs us.

Just another day traipsing around the stars.

End Log."
