It is incredible that another prominent Star Trek actor has passed on after so short a space of time after the last one (David Warner), but this one is even more prominent, one who has now joined DeForest Kelley, James Doohan and Leonard Nimoy with the Great Bird of the Galaxy in the afterlife: Nichelle Nichols.

That is right. Uhura is gone. A character that has had a pronounced impact in many lives in real life with her prominence on Star Trek, on television as a whole, despite her position on the ship and on the show, one of which was Whoopi Goldberg when she saw Uhura when she was little. Such a prominent actress will be missed. Rest In Peace and in the next life, Live Long and Prosper.
