[Observation Lounge – Deck 1]

James waited for the Tholian response when his eye caught the Vulcan Ambassador approach him.

"Either you are the master of understatement, James, or you really are takov-duhsu. Nothing has made sense since the tachyon radiation. We are being affected temporally somehow and without accessing the data from the scans I am unable to pinpoint the area of divergence." She turned to address the Tholian Borg, and an undeniably familiar snarky tone came through.

"Captain Eydis, I have had enough death threats from you to last me the rest of my life. Which admittedly would be very short if you decided to follow through. Think. How did you get here onto the Station, where is the rest of your Caste, not collective? There are bigger problems here than assimilation."
"I never even asked his name..." T'Prina murmured to herself, aghast at the oversight.

James smiled as he looked down.  "I know it sucks with the Ferengi being in charge, but this is the way it always been and you are saying that the particles is affecting....all of this?" .  James pointed out.

The words she mentioned takov-duhsu. stroke something.  For some reason, the words had some meaning and special meaning for him but he did not know.  The Chief of Enginering said "All right...I'll take the bait.  I know someone that might know what is going on."   James mentioned

He took a second and pressed his comm =/\= Hawke to Hawke, do you mind coming to the Observation Lounge =/\= .  James said as he asked his twin sister who was a Starfleet Officer to come into the meeting, she might confirm T'Prina's

He saw the Commander, Lieutenant?, speaking to some Tholian, no, a Borg. No. It was a Tholian. Derek gently shook his head as he approached.

"Excuse me, Sir. Sirs." he amended as the Tholian was wearing a Starfleet uniform as well. How had he not noticed that sooner? I'm getting a damn headache. Derek thought as he began to sway.

Hawke stopped for a second and said "Yes....  Before he could finish he felt the doors of the Turbolift swoosh open.  As a Commander Hawke appeared.  His sister and the Former First Officer of the Shran.
As she entered she smiled with her command red and greeting everyone  "James...everyone...please no Ma'am or Commander. What's up?  Why the call all of the sudden?"

James then shook his head for a second and responded "So...since your background is Science, we are having a discussion that these Tachyon Particles are affecting us.  I wanted to ask you what you know about it.".

The recent former Commander looked down for a second as she thought about the answer.  She knew more than what they were discussing.  "Hmm...interesting.  I can't say much about it.  I have been ordered to not talk about the Tachyon Particles is a Temporal Anomaly and our shield is marginally protecting us.  I have been specifically ordered not go to the Anomaly which takes on Earth in the Year 2019.  But since, you have not heard these orders...there is nothing preventing you from fixing it."  As she mentioned she hoped he brother to take the hint.   As she politely bow and left.

"All right.  Ambassador...you might be onto something.  Try to see if you can make an analysis on how the timelines are different...also try to get Michael to help you with the logistics" .  James suggested.

He then turned his attention to the Cadet "Try to steal as many devices to alter our appearances and report to the bridge of the Shran in 2 hours" .  Hawke mentioned.

"Ensign Rodwell, as Chief Engineer of the Station I have the Codes...I need you to Modify the Shran for a skeleton crew or less than 20 people; you have two hours. Meet me on the bridge.  .  Hawke then requested.

"I can't order anyone to follow anything...but I think we owe it to ourselves to figure out what is wrong and correct the timeline"   Hawke suggested.

He began moving as he wanted to have two hours to get everything ready.  He then approached Mondo.

"Do you want to know what is going on?  I might have an answer for you in 2 hours.  Head to the Bridge of the Shran.  Some extra weapons might not be bad idea" .  Hawke suggested.

As Hawke began walking he looked at Stratton "Two Hours on the Shran.  We might need you to fly. .

2 Hours Hawke thought to himself.

2 Hours later [Shran Bridge]

Hawke arrived on the Shran as he headed to the Engineering Station.  He was going to make it look that there was a Warp Core Meltdown so that anyone that was not them would evacuate the ship and they can proceed towards the Temporal Anomaly.  He waited for people to report into the ship.  The last two hours he had been working to make it look like the Radiation Surge would be believable with Reporting Engine problems.

Derek Looked at the beautiful young woman as if seeing her for the first time.

"I thought...." he began before registering her words. Had she just called him Lieutenant? He looked at his collar and saw third year cadet pips. He wasn't sure if he was a Lieutenant but he was damn positive that he was no longer a Cadet.

"This is getting beyond strange." he said to her. "I'm not clearly sure what color you were wearing but it's gold now and it's not important. Something is going on and we need to figure it out. Come on. Let's go talk to Hawke." he suggested.

He saw the Commander, Lieutenant?, speaking to some Tholian, no, a Borg. No. It was a Tholian. Derek gently shook his head as he approached.

"By the way,.." Luby said, "Have we actually been introduced.  I'm pretty sure I'd know if I had the acquaintance of a rather sexy Lieutenant who actually paid me some mind!"  she said blushing.  "I dunno if I said but I'm Luby Wentock... least I think I am!"

She grinned.  "Let's go see Hawke."

"So, is this where all the cool kids hang out?!" Luby said with a small giggle then noticed Hawke.

"Um, I mean, reporting for duty, Sir..."  she cast a grimace at Derek and then gave him a smile.  "No Ferengis here hopefully."

Eydis

[Observation lounge] Eydis would have begone to move in on the commander raising a wicked tholian borg short sword looking much like a gladius to strike at the human.  But as he spoke so did the lattice that she shared with all of her crew. Something was wrong. Drawing strength from her crew over the lattice she breaks free of the borg collective for now. As her two guards faint and fall to the floor next to her.

Her form would revert to her true form as she takes a step towards the human command caste hawke. Something has altered the timeline, if we dont change it I fear the void that is the borg will enslave all organic life to it with disturbing speed. She would nod and follow him

Two hours later appearing on the Bridge of shran next to commander hawke

"Nice to meet you Luby Wentock. I'm Derek Rodwell." Derek replied before they went to Hawke. Hawke laid out a partial plan and gave two hours.

[Bridge - USS Shran]

Derek spent those two hours prepping the ship. Using the codes that had been given to him, he had cut off all non essential departments and areas. It was a big ship so a crew of thirty was going to be hard but with the right thirty, it could be done. He was standing at the Engineering station when Hawke arrived and he stepped aside as the Lieutenant approached. He informed the man of the changes he had made. A moment later, the beautiful young cadet from the party arrived.

[Deck 1 – Observation Lounge]

Just as Stratton was becoming content with the realization he was experiencing an alcohol induced hallucination and it would eventually fade given enough time, Commander, no .. Lieutenant Hawke ordered him back to the Shran in two hours time. Either way, Hawke was a superior, and his orders were to be followed.

He closed his eyes, pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep slow breath. When he opened them again Hawke was gone. He looked down at himself. No uniform. He was in civilian clothes again. Clearly he was experiencing ongoing symptoms. Had Hawke really ordered him to the Shran and to be ready to fly? Or was that the .. hallucination speaking?

Did he dare take a chance to presume it was the hallucination? But then again, he had four Roluman Ales, if it was an order, he was in no shape to report to duty like this. Yet, if he didn't report to duty, and it wasn't his mind playing tricks on him, he would be disobeying a direct order.

Right.

He knew what he needed to do. He needed a cold shower. Very cold shower. That is, if he could find his quarters.

[USS Shran - Bridge]

One hour and fifty-five minutes later, Crewman Stratton reported to the Bridge of the Shran. His step was far from confident as he left the turbolift. He fully expected to be glared at and summarily told to leave said bridge and consider himself on report.

"So, Derek, anyone... any ideas which terminal I should be at... since I could have sworn I was Science and Medical at Academy but I appear to be wearing Gold.  Pray to any Gods, Prophets, Great Exchequer even that I'm not Engineering, last time they put me on an Engineering job things went bang... and they weren't supposed to!"  Luby said with a small grin.

Mondo'li Nari

USS Shran - Bridge

Mondo had been shaken by the sensation he'd felt within his own mind as he spoke to Anna Lynn.  He was sure that her name was Anna Lynn, despite her being a Vulcan.  There was no good rhyme or reason for this growing certainty, but it grew all the same, indifferent to the lack of factual fertility in the soil.

Then, when someone in the lounge had declared that 'Something has altered the timeline,' he started to believe that he was not nearly as crazy as he felt, for feeling as he felt.  The impression of a half-remembered other existence did not seem so ludicrous.  It was as if his mind was oscillating between two worlds, and two versions of himself.

And so, abandoning his mission to poison the station, he instead secreted himself among the servants assigned to the Shran.  Mondo'li had been serving in the Alliance for a long time, and thus there was no objection raised when he indicated to the Hospitality Sergeant that he'd been selected for duty on the bridge.  Or perhaps the lack of objection was because everyone else was experiencing the same confusion that he was.

Now, he approached the Captain's chair, a coffee service of pot, creamer, sugar, and cups perched and balanced on a silver platter.  "May I offer you refreshment, Sir?"

He looked down at the Commanding Officer of the Shran:  A representative of his people's enemy.

And yet, somehow, the hatred he'd felt all of his life was hard to grasp.  This person was not his enemy.  There was a universe where the Hupyrian rebellion was in the past.  Where oppressive Ferengi overlords did not rule the majority of the quadrant.

A universe where all here were friends.  Where he trusted them, and they valued him.

Insane.

He knew it was insane.

But still... he felt it inside.

He believed it was true.

Hiro Miyazaki

#52

Ensign Hiro Miyazaki
[Starbase Columbus - Deck 200 - Junior Officer Quarters]

Hiro was the newest of the new among the crew of the Shran... or was he considered part of Starbase Columbus?  It was difficult to tell.  He'd arrived on the base just the day prior and informed that the Shran was being assigned to the Starbase.  So he supposed that technically put him under the purview of the Commander of the station overall.

Hiro hadn't attended the welcoming party, though he'd been informed of it.  The introverted engineer figured his time was better spent getting to know his new ship. He had to make a good impression on the Chief.

With his nose buried in ship schematics, Hiro was oblivious to pretty much everything around him.  The only time he'd glanced up was when a notification came to his PADD that the station was a yellow alert.  He checked the roster but his name wasn't listed for duty at Yellow, so he returned to his study of the ship's systems.

The changes to in association to Hiro were subtle, so subtle that Hiro didn't at notice at all despite that one minute he was reading up on the layout of the stations power relays and next he was reading over the standard Point of Impact shielding designs by General Reyna.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[USS Shran - Deck 15 - Main Engineering Level 1](2 hours later)
Hiro bowed deeply towards his fellow shipmates as he stood at his assigned station - looking after the intermix flow.
"It is an honor to be assigned working with you." he greeted as he rose from his bow. " I am Ensign Miyazaki." Because he his fellow crewmates were from an assortment of planets Hiro strove to speak clearly, but his Japanese accent was definitely noticeable to the others.
He had been surprised to receive orders to take duty station on the Shran but was glad that he'd taken the time to do some studying earlier.  It was definitely turning out to be a good day.
James looked at the Bridge and approached the Captain's chair.  It would be odd for him to take the chair but on this operation, he would be the Senior Officer in charge.  He wondered for a second what he was doing and the risk involved.  They were about to steal a ship and not just any ship it would be a Sovereign ship.
Hawke looked around for a second as he noticed the first person coming in.
James stood up from the Captain's chair for a second and responded "Nah...not really.  This is where future criminals hang out.  If we keep together, we might start a gang" .  Hawke responded.  He smiled as he was kidding but they were stealing a ship or planning too.  He hoped that they would all know the plan.
As he began starting the sequence, he looked at Mondo approaching him and offering a drink.  Hawke looked at him for a second and responded "No, thanks.  Y'know what's weird....I feel like I read about you not as a servant but as a tactical officer." .  Hawke mentioned to the individual.
He was shocked for a second and told him "In public, I am a supporter of the Alliance.  In Private I think what they did to humanity was awful.  We eradicated legal slavery and now with the alliance is legal.  Sometimes it feels that greed made us take a step backwards" .  Hawke reflected.  If this was the end of his carrier of the Alliance at least stealing a ship would make him go out with a bang.
Hawke then remembered what he was informed of what they needed to do.  Go back in time fix the timeline.
James reacted by leeting the Tholian Borg to sit next to his chair.  He wanted to share that this situation was one that affected any of them but affected all of them as a crew.  He would not be lost to what to do with the situation when he began listening.
"Computer Initiate the Operation." Hawke stated
Within seconds the lights turn low and began with a Red Alert.
As the shipe went to Red Alert a message was heard on the entire ship
"Warning Warp Core Breach Imminent, Please Evacuate"
Hawke then nodded and said "Open Hailing Frequency to the Starbase"
As he stood he mentioned "All right, did we evacuate most of the "nonessential" personnel?" Hawke asked as he wanted to see that the ship was mostly empty.
"Sir there is an Ensign Shima in Engineering" The officer informed.
"CRAP!"   Hawke responded as he stood silent for a second.   If he was there in person any engineer would know that there was no containment failure and that if checked it was a false alarm.  He needed to make sure that no one prevented it.
He then explained to everyone "All right this is what he know...  Aparently we are in a temporal displacement and we are all feeling like we are in two timelines.  We are going to take the Shran into the Anomaly, which I presume would take us to Earth in in the year 2019.  We need to find out what happened and how to stop it.  There are two timelines:  The Ferengi Alliance Timeline, Earth First Contact was in 2020 with the Ferengi Alliance, the alternative timeline Earth made the first contact in 2063.  Soo...we need to make preparations" .
He then turned to first Cadet Wentock, "I see you are wearing Gold, but my memories tell me you used to be in Medical...I want you to take everyone and try to make them look more ...human if possible.".  Hawke commented as he did not know what to do.
He then turned to Rodwell "Ensign, we might need someone to know some ancient Earth history from 2020 and what to wear.  I am sure you can study this and make suggestions" .
He looked at Eydis and said "The only I can think of for Tholians, is to drop them to some sort of Comic Book Convention...like Comic Con?.  Hawke shrugged as he was looking for ideas.
"Mondo, have you ever wanted to look more human?" .  Hawke asked as he wondering what to do with some people in the crew.
Mondo'li Nari
Mondo's eyebrows lifted in surprise at the suggestion that he could be a tactical officer.  Who would ever let a servant operate a weapons console?   And yet, as he glanced up towards the tactical station, there was something familiar about it.  Perhaps in another life, he might indeed be what the Captain claimed.
But whatever surprise this held was dwarfed by the surprise of the Captain's announcement.  They were stealing a ship.  On a mission to travel through time.  To change the fate of the galaxy.
Mondo'li was dumbfounded.  It was as though he'd awoken into a backwards universe this morning.  Nothing made sense any more.
There was talk between these two announcements about human slavery.  The ideas trickled in slowly to Mondo'li's numbed brain.
Finally, the Captain asked him if he'd ever wanted to look more human.  Mondo became indignant at the question.
"No, Sir.  I am quite content with my physical appearance."
He glanced around, wondering what he should be doing.  His sense of purpose was waning.
He edged closer to the tactical console, having another look at it.   He had the vague sense of having operated such a console before.
Another memory from a life never lived?
Ensign Hiro Miyazaki
[USS Shran - Deck 15 - Main Engineering]
Not long after introducing himself to his fellow engineers Hiro was left to himself.   His station was located in an isolated corner of the Main Engineering level and Hiro whose task only was of need when the ship was powered and at warp, soon found himself returning to his studying... and well.. maybe also sneaking a moment or two catching up on his favorite manga - STAR TREK - on his PADD.
Manga that allowed the heroes to be anything other than Ferengi were rare... almost forbidden... but Hiro had managed to collect nearly the entire series on his PADD.  He was soon engrossed in the heroic adventure of the artistically drawn story.
"CRAP!"   Hawke responded as he stood silent for a second.   If he was there in person any engineer would know that there was no containment failure and that if checked it was a false alarm.  He needed to make sure that no one prevented it.
The human engineer nearly fell out of seat when the Red Alert klaxon sounded.  Lighting in the room dimmed with a reddish glow and the alert status graphic showed on all non-essential displays.  Hiro scrambled to his feet, tucking his PADD into his utility belt and poked his head around the corner into the main area to ask what was going on.  He was alarmed to find himself completely alone.  Where was everyone!?
The Japanese engineer blanched at hearing the computers announcement of a 'Imminent Warp Core Breach'.  "Nani!?" (translation: What!?)
With the spike of adrenaline in his system, Hiro's perception of time immediately slowed.  His glance went from station to station looking for the cause of the warp core breach.  But nothing he saw made any sense.
Yet before he could do more than take a step towards the engineering 'pool table' to get a better sense of what was wrong, a call cut through the blare of the klaxon.   Hawke?  For a brief second Hiro thought that the man was the XO of the Station but then recalled that no that was someone else - though the name eluded him.  He really needed to work on his memorizing of 'who's who'... but that could wait for later.  He'd been ordered to the Bridge!
"Kashikomarimashita!" Hiro exclaimed in his native tongue which the universal translator who note as 'Yes sir!', before catching himself and continuing on in Federation Standard.  "On my way!"  His accent was rather notable as he spoke
With one last glance about to be sure he was indeed the only engineer down here Hiro hurried out of the room and towards the nearest turbolift, taking it to the Bridge.
When he arrived, stepping out onto the Bridge, the man seated in the Captain's seat offered an explanation - not so much to Hiro, but to the Bridge officers around him.  Hiro listened in attentively, pushing his glasses back up along his nose.
"Mondo, have you ever wanted to look more human?" .  Hawke asked as he wondering what to do with some people in the crew.
The notion that this might not be his proper timeline was a bit foreign but it wasn't out of the realm of possibility.   There had been that fraction of a second when he though Hawke was the XO of the station.
Hiro had to make a decision either to follow Hawke as the ship's Captain and change the current timeline, or to sneak away and report this obvious temporal infraction and betrayal of the Ferengi Alliance.
"How can I help?" he asked, his words somewhat difficult to make out due to the accent he had.
[U.S.S. Shran
James looked at the Bridge and approached the Captain's chair.  It would be odd for him to take the chair but on this operation, he would be the Senior Officer in charge.  He wondered for a second what he was doing and the risk involved.  They were about to steal a ship and not just any ship it would be a Sovereign ship.
Hawke looked around for a second as he noticed the first person coming in.
James stood up from the Captain's chair for a second and responded "Nah...not really.  This is where future criminals hang out.  If we keep together, we might start a gang" .  Hawke responded.  He smiled as he was kidding but they were stealing a ship or planning too.  He hoped that they would all know the plan.
James then looked at the individual in Engineering and explained.  "Pretty Shortly...I will start the sequence.  We will go into Red Alert and go into a catastrophic matter/antimatter issue.  The Starbase will be forced to let us go and dumb the core into open Space...and then we go, with a stolen ship.  So thank you for your work" .  James acknowledged the Engineer Officer.
As he began starting the sequence, he looked at Mondo approaching him and offering a drink.  Hawke looked at him for a second and responded "No, thanks.  Y'know what's weird....I feel like I read about you not as a servant but as a tactical officer." .  Hawke mentioned to the individual.
He was shocked for a second and told him "In public, I am a supporter of the Alliance.  In Private I think what they did to humanity was awful.  We eradicated legal slavery and now with the alliance is legal.  Sometimes it feels that greed made us take a step backwards" .  Hawke reflected.  If this was the end of his carrier of the Alliance at least stealing a ship would make him go out with a bang.
Hawke then remembered what he was informed of what they needed to do.  Go back in time fix the timeline.
James reacted by leeting the Tholian Borg to sit next to his chair.  He wanted to share that this situation was one that affected any of them but affected all of them as a crew.  He would not be lost to what to do with the situation when he began listening.
"Computer Initiate the Operation." Hawke stated
Within seconds the lights turn low and began with a Red Alert.
As the shipe went to Red Alert a message was heard on the entire ship
"Warning Warp Core Breach Imminent, Please Evacuate"
Hawke then nodded and said "Open Hailing Frequency to the Starbase"
=/\= "Columbus, this is the Shran he had a matter/antimatter containment error in the Refit of the Ship...this ship is going to blow like a Roman Candle on the Fourth of July...we need to leave the Station ASAP.  Requesting Emergency Departure =/\=
As Hawke mentioned he pointed at Statton and said "Mr. Stratton, do you mind taking us out?  No need for specific commands, we are on a state of "Emergency".  Hawke ordered with a smile as everyone should know that he was kidding as it was all fake.
As he stood he mentioned "All right, did we evacuate most of the "nonessential" personnel?" Hawke asked as he wanted to see that the ship was mostly empty.
"Sir there is an Ensign Shima in Engineering" The officer informed.
"CRAP!"   Hawke responded as he stood silent for a second.   If he was there in person any engineer would know that there was no containment failure and that if checked it was a false alarm.  He needed to make sure that no one prevented it.
=/\= Hawke to ....the Ensign in Engineering....ummm...report to the Bridge, we are trying to fix the Matter/Antimatter here.  Drop Everything and head here ASAP...That's an order =/\=   As Hawke mentioned it  he then looked and said "Don't tell me is weird ordering someone to steal the ship" .
He then explained to everyone "All right this is what he know...  Aparently we are in a temporal displacement and we are all feeling like we are in two timelines.  We are going to take the Shran into the Anomaly, which I presume would take us to Earth in in the year 2019.  We need to find out what happened and how to stop it.  There are two timelines:  The Ferengi Alliance Timeline, Earth First Contact was in 2020 with the Ferengi Alliance, the alternative timeline Earth made the first contact in 2063.  Soo...we need to make preparations" .
He then turned to first Cadet Wentock, "I see you are wearing Gold, but my memories tell me you used to be in Medical...I want you to take everyone and try to make them look more ...human if possible.".  Hawke commented as he did not know what to do.
He then turned to Rodwell "Ensign, we might need someone to know some ancient Earth history from 2020 and what to wear.  I am sure you can study this and make suggestions" .
He looked at Eydis and said "The only I can think of for Tholians, is to drop them to some sort of Comic Book Convention...like Comic Con?.  Hawke shrugged as he was looking for ideas.
[Bridge - USS Shran]
Luby was about to protest when she noticed the look on Hawke's face, then came the explanation.
"So these Ferengi might not actually be meant to be here, and whether or not I actually have a fear of them or not will be a moot point." she mused aloud.
"And I was remarking to Lieutenant erm... whatever rank he is... Derek, Mr. Rodwell, I seem to remember myself in teal too so medical seems logical to me. I can do the human thing, I think most of us are, those who aren't I think it's just a matter of a bit of make up in the case of those with really sallow skin, hiding Vulcanoid ears, with hairstyles, caps and the like...as for Mr. Nari. I think the best way to do that possibly, no offence to the lovely race of Hupyrians but I think the best thing I can do is a kind of temporary filler.   This is for one mission, were it something like a Klingon wanting their cranial ridges removed, then I'd think about permanent options.  And our Tholian friend... yeah even now, or least 4 years ago on Earth when I was last there, I doubt anyone outside of Starfleet Command knew what a Tholian was let alone what one looked like.  The general public would assume they were being invaded and it wasn't a good thing.  I have one suggestion if you can be covered at all,..."
Luby crossed to a terminal and pulled up some files, mildly cursing under her breath when she didn't get the thing she wanted first time.
"Sorry, Sir... just I didn't know the proper name to start off with, turns out it's a burka, it's the clothing worn by certain types of those who followed the religion of 'Islam' back at the time you're thinking of travelling back to, it's not really the height of fashion, and those people were as I recall, not really the most popular of people due to some of them engaging in blowing up others in terrorist activities, but it does cover everything head to foot, the fact that you're slightly wider than most if we threw a blanket over you, welllll... you aren't but people would just think you were particularly fat!" she said with an apologetic look at Eydis.
"Here's a picture, they're normally black, but you can have coloured ones."
"I'm really not sure of anything right now." Derek replied to Luby. "I do remember seeing you first in a blue tunic." he was about to suggest a med station when the Captain gave her a task before turning to Derek.
"Believe me, Sir. It's my pleasure. All these damn changes are giving me a headache." he answered.
They went about finishing the preparations for Hawke's plan and when the time was right, it was implemented. Once again, orders were called out. Derek looked up when he was being addressed.
"Aye, Sir." came the response as Derek set to work with his assignment.
"Thanks for the confirmation Mr. Rodwell.  Maybe I could help with the historical part too. I read a lot!" the medical cadet said with a shrug.  "Maybe Mr. Shima could help too, I'm not familiar with Eastern fashions of the time only European and American."
[USS Shran - Bridge]
Stratton had not been on the bridge two minutes when Lieutenant ... or was it Commander? It didn't matter... when his superior officer Hawke ordered him to the helm of the Shran. Helm control. He was to pilot the Shran. A Sovereign class ship! He grinned. He was loving this hallucination.
Somewhere in the back recesses of his mind, memories were at war with the reality of what was happening now. But Stratton wasn't paying to those memories, he had just been given carte blanche to just engage engines of a Sovereign class ship and go.. At his own discretion. This type of opportunity did not come twice in a lifetime.
Normally Stratton would have taken the time to process his orders in a thoughtful serious manner, plan the most logical course of action, double check it, then make copious amounts of documentation as to why he planned the actions he was about to do, then finally engage in the action of completing the orders.
But not today. Nope. Stratton lost no time in seating himself at the helm, quickly acquainting himself with the control panel, because the largest ship he had ever flown was a frigate class, and those were short hop supply runs. In short order, mooring clamps from the Columbus were disengaged, inertial dampeners set, backing thrusters were being fired in a series of short tiny bursts, allowing the USS Shran to back away from the Starbase in a controlled drift to clear space.
That was when he heard Hawke talk about matter/anti matter. His hallucination had a dark sense of humor it seemed. Matter/anti matter situation. Bah. Not real. If such a thing was real, they wouldn't have been given a two hour prep time to leave. Silly hallucination. Stratton would play along however, distance between the Shran and the Base was apparently the priority, according to the hallucination, and he wasn't going to disappoint.
Ah.. They were stealing the ship. Nice twist hallucination or was it temporal displacement, Touche'. If they were stealing it, then it was even more imperative that it be done quickly. Stratton boosted the firing thrusters, allowing the Shran to take a concentrated path, rather than the controlled easy drift previously set. He guessed in less than a minute they would have room to turn, engage impulse and take off. He programmed the yaw rate into the console at the distance needed and waited.
That minute was actually more than two. Apparently his sense of timing calculation was off. He blamed it on the hallucination/temporal displacement. Absently Stratton was still somewhat bemused by how real everything seemed, but that thought was quickly shoved unceremoniously aside when the Shran reached the minimum safe distance to engage impulse engines. Which he did.
While Hiro waited with anticipation for the... Lieutenant? Commander? rogue Captain?.. to reply back wondering if he should mention his fascination for the ComicComs to the man, his attention was drawn to the cadet in the gold collared uniform.  Hiro smiled happy to be of help.
"For 2019?  That would be very like American clothes."
Hiro looked to the Tholian and rethought his statement. "Especially if you do plan to dress Comic Com."
