Nevir continued his work on the station, and with his face facing the panel screen and not anyone in particular, he gave a small smile.  At least his crew was working as intended.

"Miss Hansen, actually yes.  Take the torpedoes offline as well.  They won't get to use our armaments for whatever they are planning on doing." he stated, as he continued going through the main computer.

At that moment, however, the targeting systems were locked.  Tactical couldn't aim the discharged beam.

"The buoys have the same issue affecting the ship, Lek.  If we don't get main power offline then they are going to have control of both the weapons platform and a ship.  Besides, I've seen the schematics... these buoys are not standard issue.  They have heavily modified."

"Wait, what the-..." he asked though, as the discharge finally lanced out of the phaser systems.... and right into a buoy.  It caused some damage, but it certainly didn't destroy it, or even disable it. And on top of that, the discharge burned out a phaser bank. He looked over at tactical for an explanation and once he got it, he frowned.

"Lek, go down to main engineering and secure the warp core.  I think its time I question these Intelligence scientists.  Not even Hrafn knew what they were up to." he stated, standing up.

"Dem, you have the Bridge."

[USS Discovery - Deck 9 - Main Sickbay]

The doors to the sickbay opened and the Captain walked in with a raised eyebrow.  "That's alright, Mr. Savyn.  I am here now.  I have some questions of my own about that facility." he stated, walking up to the rather unruly patient.  He looked down at the scientist and a frown grew on his face as he stared hard.

"Mr Savyn, prepare a sedative just in case.  This may get ugly." he said, his eyes not leaving the scientist.

"We know what you were experimenting on.  So lets try from the top.  Why did the station revolt?  And why have Starfleet officers been trying to kill members of my crew.. or worse." he said, as the doors to Sickbay opened and another figure walked in.

Lieutenant Commander Hrafn Falleq-Tekin, causally walking over and appearing in the scientist's view next to her husband.

[Main Bridge --> Main Engineering - USS Discovery]

Lek had lost awareness of what was happening and decided to simply follow the order he'd been given.

"Aye Sir!"

He raced for the turbolift and to engineering. During the short trip, he wondered out loud.

"Why does this feel like dÁ©jÁ  vu all over again?"

He hoped he wasn't about to have to turn into a Jeffries tube rat again.

Quote from: Ch'e N'ok Savyn on March 25, 2024, 02:00:42 AM

[USS Discovery-B | Sickbay]

A flicker of frustration flashed across Savyn's face, but only for a moment. He placed his hands back down on the man's chest and pushed him back down with a bit more force.

"Our captain is... Unavailable, for the time being," Savyn explained carefully. "And even if he were, we would be much more willing to speak with you if you were well. Now, please lay back and allow me to treat you, or I will be forced to administer a... A sedative..."

Savyn's words seemed to slow as he could sense Fvienn's nearby vexation-- though he couldn't entirely tell if it was from his Vulcan hearing, or the telepathic bond he had with the boy.

[Sickbay]

What was it with Starfleet ships and finding themselves in the worst situation possible?

Left reeling after the attacks on Earth, Starfleet had been reorganizing and shuffling across crew to a variety of postings. It seemed the only constant in life was change, and with that came all the complications of a new posting. No matter how much one studied deck plans and schematics, there was never a substitute for the actual walking of a new ship. Some corridors were slightly smaller than advertised, and others had slightly uneven deck plating. Each ship was bespoke, with a variety of small variations. It took time to get used to, time that Abas simply put didn't have.

He was still learning where the important places to be were, having transferred from the Challenger to this new ship just in time to be thrust into the action. For the last little bit, he'd been scurrying around the background of the sickbay, doing what he did best, and assisting those as he could.

Hearing the Vulcan request assistance against a combative patient, he stepped forward, tapping his foot as he came to a stop once in order to try and communicate he was there to exist. His blank white eyes sat unmoving as his fingers deftly found his hypospray with one hand and assisted in trying to restrain the Romulan.

Why were there so many injured onboard to begin with? The Aenar cast a momentary thought toward the conundrum they found themselves in. Abas didn't know why anything had happened, why these patients were onboard, or what situation the ship found itself in. The limits of his knowledge were the four walls of the medical ward - and a base familiarity of the command staff. He'd not even really paid much attention to whatever he might be able to pick up with his telepathic abilities - he'd been too focused on other details to even consider opening his mind and had kept hit highly shielded.

Of course, things changed when the Captain entered and started an interrogation of the injured man. Abas didn't speak for now, and simply awaited orders, or the next pressing thing. Why was the Captain here? What secrets did the injured patient have? And did the Captain really say that a whole space station was in revolt?

This truly felt like the ship of the damned.

Lorut Vila

Unnamed Station
Science Labs

As Vila entered the science labs, she stopped short. Not much shocked her these days, but this did. In front of her lay bodies. Dead? She couldn't tell. They didn't SMELL dead, and if there was one thing that Vila knew, it was the smell of death. Phaser at the ready, she moved forward slowly. It was eerily quiet, as if this part of the ship was somehow a repellant to the zombified mutineers. She moved towards the ESH computer. In a moment, she had the screen lit up. It would attract attention, but she didn't care. She had come too far now.
She scanned the data quickly, and her sharp mind realized what she was looking at. Why the all seemed familiar. She brought up the auxiliary lighting system, and, her suspicions were concerned.
Bodies. But for what? A cryostasis pod was nearby. Were they cloning? Doing other experiments? The same sort that were performed on her?
She pulled out her PADD and snapped a quick picture. Suddenly, the lights went down again. She'd been found. Fuck.
She ducked into the Pod and shut the door quickly.
She tapped her COMMS badge, hoping desperately it would work. She whispered into it.
=/\=Cloning lab in the science deck. I am ok.=/\=
With the message sent, she carefully peeked out of the pod.
A Starfleet officer stood there, in front of the room, trying to turn off the computer she'd just started. Silently, she climbed out of the pod and approached, placing the phaser against the neck of the person. "Tell me what the HELL is going on here, and I won't send you to the Prophets today," she said, her voice even but dripping with a tone that said "try me."
"I have nothing left to lose, so. I wouldn't try me if I were you," she said.

Lorut's hushed voice crackled over Tanner's communicator. She halted briefly, double-checking Lorut's instructions before proceeding toward the science deck. The thought of cloning made her nervous but the fear in his voice chilled her most.

As Tanner cautiously entered the science lab, she kept to the shadows, moving with a silent purpose. Pausing she tilted her head at the sound of voices. Slipping behind a row of metallic consoles, Tanner crouched low, her breath shallow as she listened intently. With the corridor secure, Rayek left the turbolift and strode towards the locked out door.

He looked to the Vulcan.  "Ensign, secure the mutineers.  Bind and gag them."

With that order he turned to the locked door and began removing the panel beside - that would give him access to its hydraulics.   Unlocking the door might take few minutes but that gave the others time to get treated.

While Malik was helping her though her mind went back to the scans and her curiosity got the better of her, "Commander, forgive me its probably nothing...and this will sound a little crazy, but did you do any bone therapy or replacement surgery recently?"

Hearing Novi's question, the Romulan glanced over his shoulder towards her and frowned.

"Doctor," he interrupted.  "Once you are done with your own treatment, I want you focused on treating our captives.  Check them over in close detail.  I want to know if there's an outside force influencing their actions. "

That should keep her busy.  His eyes fixed on the Lieutenant Commander. "I could use a hand here."

Doctor Betaika

[Sickbay | USS Discovery]

Betaika placed down the PADD that was giving him information on his bio signs. One of their patients, a Lieutenant had fallen into some comma, which was concerning considering the extent of her injuries. While it was concerning, he couldn't pledge that he was paying full attention to the officer who had summoned his council. His ears pricked as he overheard a few of the conversations near Savyn.

Betaika frowned as he walked over to the cluster. "œPlease stop crowding the patient. And petty officer Th'vyrrol put that hypospray away immediately." Betaika ordered with a perturbed tone. He was not prepared to let the captain turn things "ugly". He had been a medical officer present at too many interrogations to let it happen again under his own command. While the threat that the officer may or may not present could be substantial, that should never impede on proper care for the patient.

Vadok Alvarez

Vadok nodded in acknowledgment of Commander Rayek's directive. Though binding mutineers was not a typical task for a science officer, he understood the necessity of maintaining order and ensuring the safety of all personnel aboard the station.

"Understood, Commander," Vadok replied with his characteristic calm demeanor. Turning his attention to the mutineers who had been subdued, he quickly assessed the situation and began to improvise a solution for securing them.

Making use of nearby cables and utility supplies, Vadok efficiently fashioned makeshift restraints, ensuring that the mutineers would be unable to pose a threat while awaiting further disposition. With practiced precision, he secured each individual, ensuring that they were adequately bound and gagged.

As he worked, Vadok remained focused on the task at hand, mindful of the importance of swift and decisive action in such a volatile situation. Once the mutineers were securely restrained, he stood ready to assist Commander Rayek with unlocking the door, prepared to swiftly move onto the next phase of their mission.

Quote from: Novi

[Ensign Novi - Station operations room]

Ensign Novi was trying to control her breathing, she heard Mr. Grippen tell her things were alright and she was glad to hear that but she was focusing on not falling into shock and managing the pain, "My medkit....there's a dermal regenerator and a hypospray." her right arm was useless from the phaser shot and it was unfortunately where her medkit was so she just pointed with her left hand. "If you could hand me 3 ccs of anesthizine and apply dermaline to the burn we can use the dermal regenerator to repair the skin." She trusted there was nothing broken so as long as she was helped up and the burn treatment applied she hoped it would be just that. It wasn't her first time getting shot at, or shot for that matter, but it still didn't make it any less dangerous.

While Malik was helping her though her mind went back to the scans and her curiosity got the better of her, "Commander, forgive me its probably nothing...and this will sound a little crazy, but did you do any bone therapy or replacement surgery recently?"

[Station, Deck 1, corridor towards Operations Centre]

Malik grabbed the medical kit and set to work, all Starfleet officers were trained in the basics of first aid and hypospray use, and so he used that training and put it to good use. He jabbed Novi with the hypospray before grabbing a tub of dermaline gel. "This may sting a little..." The Risan gently rubbed in the soothing gel to Novi's wound hoping the painkilling injection would take the edge off.

Her question was a curious one, but he answered anyway. "No, all i had was the standard physiotherapy. Why do you ask?"

Quote from: Rayek

Hearing Novi's question, the Romulan glanced over his shoulder towards her and frowned.

"Doctor," he interrupted.  "Once you are done with your own treatment, I want you focused on treating our captives.  Check them over in close detail.  I want to know if there's an outside force influencing their actions. "

That should keep her busy.  His eyes fixed on the Lieutenant Commander. "I could use a hand here."

Hearing the commander ask for help, Malik quickly finished up applying the dermaline gel to Novi's wound and made sure she wasn't about to pass out. He thought the commander's tone was a bit harsh, the Romulan hadn't even been over to check on the status of ensign Novi's health. It wasn't like him. "You're going to be ok. Let the gel do its thing, I'll speak to the commander. You need to be recovering in sickbay..."

Malik left Novi to join Rayek at the door to Station Operations. He assisted with the commander's attempts to open the door and after a few minutes they managed to get the thing open. The inside was empty of personnel, fortunately for them.

"Commander, I have to ask - are you feeling ok? Ensign Novi has been shot, she needs to return to Discovery."

The Captain seemed willing to listen to the scientist, but only to see exactly what he knew.  His eyes jumped to Dr. Betaika turning and walking towards him and did his best to hide the frown that started to form.  There wasn't too much time.

When he looked back at the scientist, his eyes noted where the gaze was... Hrafn.  So he did know a lot.  Unfortunate.

The frustrated wail of an unhappy three year old sounded from the CMO's office.
"No Evie! Want Eneh's friend!"

[USS Discovery-B | Sickbay]

Savyn could feel the attention in the room shifting away from him, and carefully, praying silently that the doctor and the captain wouldn't notice, he slipped away back to the office where he knew Fvienn had been awkwardly herded into the sensation of the boy's discomfort and upset making him feel... something. He didn't know what, exactly. He wasn't sure what it was and he wasn't sure he wanted to know.

"I... sensed you were in distress," Savyn said stiffly, crouching down to the toddler's level and paying no attention to the other crewmember in the room. "I should not be here at the moment, but... if you are in need of anything, I will gladly assist."

As the Doctor told them to leave the hypospray alone, the Captain took that momentary counter of order to grab a hypospray and immediately inject it into the scientist as he tried to say who he thought Hrafn was.  The Captain didn't look up at the officers, though Hrafn moved to distract them.  Instead, he leaned down to the man's ear as the sedative wormed his way through his system, and quietly spoke.

[Sickbay | USS Discovery]

Betaika looked up to the man who had just injected a sedative into a critically ill patient, with no regard for whatever was inside that hypospray could do in his condition. Hearing the captains orders, he prepared to object and inform him that they can be restrained in the long term securely in sickbay, but the tone of his order informed him that he would not budge. If Betaika tried to thwart his plan, he would be removed and another officer would be placed in his position, who is not afraid to blindly follow the captain's orders.

He turned away from the captain and projected his voice across the room. "œPlease divert your efforts into the continued stability of these patients as we prepare to transfer them to the brig." Betaika motioned towards the group with a hint of regret. He could tell that something is going on. Something the captain knows that everyone else doesn't. His dynamic with his wife was uncomfortable one, especially for a couple that had not seen each other for a long time. Once everyone dispersed, he intended to speak to the captain in confidence.

Novi simply shook in head as the dermaline gel stung and began its work. "oh nothing, just-

Rayek tr'Lhoell
[Station - Turbolift/corridor to Operations Center]

With the corridor secure, Rayek left the turbolift and strode towards the locked out door.

He looked to the Vulcan.  "Ensign, secure the mutineers.  Bind and gag them."

With that order he turned to the locked door and began removing the panel beside - that would give him access to its hydraulics.   Unlocking the door might take few minutes but that gave the others time to get treated.

The commed whisper seemed to infuriate the Romulan, and Rayek slammed fist against the wall, denting the metal deeply. He then tapped his own badge. =/\= "tr'Lhoell to Away security.  You now have a location. Get her out of there before she causes problems!" =/\=

Novi was interrupted by the Commanders command to her. At this point she was applying the dermal regenerator, but when Grippen spoke up she did silently agree. But the Commander seemed strange...it made her spots itch just the look at her, like he was upset she was still alive. He sudden burst of anger at hearing Lt. Lorut over the comms made her actively jump from her position of rest of surprise. What could this all mean? Talk of clones...inconsistent scans...uncharacteristic behaviours...it sent her brain spinning. Her injury wasn't helping at all, her right arm was still injured and she could only move her hand a little otherwise the pain from her phaser burn became too much.

Unfortunately her distraction with the injured mutineers and her own injury prevented her from thinking too deeply on the subject and seeing them bound and gagged as such made her feel uneasy, seeing the Commander distracted with Grippen she turned her head to Alvarez and in a hushed tone spoke to him, "Please don't be too rough, if I'm to check on them I need to communicate with them and make sure they don't need any immediate medical attention..."

The Romulan was relieved when his interruption worked, ending the conversation between the Trill and Lieutenant Commander.  It was unbelievable to him, that the least troublesome of the group was the Vulcan.  Well, his goal was nearly in sight.

Soon the doors to Ops Center opened and Rayek looked expectantly towards the Command seat, only to find it empty.  Confusion crossed his expression, followed closely by alarm and anger.  Fvadt!* How the hell had he woken so soon?! And where in Areinnye* was he now?"[/color]

As Rayek considered what to do next given this new troubling issue, he was interrupted by the Lieutenant Commander.  "Yes, I'm fine." the Romulan answered with a grimace at the question.  He looked to the medical officer, who now had a name.

"Fine, one moment and I'll beam her to the ship."

The Romulan strode over to the Operations console which was already configured for transporter use and began working its controls.

"Anyone else want to head back?" he queried sarcastically.

[Sickbay]

The man in the biobed had no means of resisting when the Captain injected him.  However as the medication began to take hold and the Captain whispered his admission, the scientist in a last attempt to get the truth out there, recalled seeing an Aenar assisting the Vulcan earlier so tried to fill his last waking thoughts with a warning.  Beware of the clones.
