Season 16: Episode 2 Roll call and Mission Discussion

Kindly sound off below with your anticipated activity level for the upcoming mission:

Active (daily to every other day. 3+ posts a week),
Relaxed (two times a week),
Pre-occupied (once a week)

This will let us know how often we should be nudging folks.

I've finished my paper and all my teaching stuff. I would like to say active... so pestering by CO's is encouraged. That's at least for a while. it will probably drop back to relaxed in a few months.

Relaxed at minimum - though I will strive for active (as needed).

Also in terms of the mission itself at this stage, I presume conversations and comms are not blocked for the mission progression in regards to Ops helping out with the ground crew on Erewhon?

Comms to the station are not blocked, and at present comms to the Away are working but the shielding that prevents any scan of the planet remains in place, so there is no tracking them... no transporter lock.. just audio.

Mission Synopsis so far (1/x):

10/06 – 16/06
Discovery was assigned to a Survey of the Verallias Sector and Operations on the Ship were going about as normal as possible.
Dem Broadshire requested his Removal from the Second Officer Training Program

17/06 – 22/06
Commander th'Lhoell discussed Lt. Broadshire's request while Commander Lek set out to talk to PO Tragnar about their future.

23/06 – 28/06
Commander th'Lhoell acknowledged Broadshire's request.
On the Bridge regular operations go about as unusual energy readings were detected.
The Ships course was adjusted to investigate the readings, the new destination being the Verallias 2 System.
Upon arrival they discovered the signals to be emerging from a planetary orbit around the second planet.
A security drill is started to test personal readiness and evaluate the new members to the Security force. Since Lorut is called to participate, Rayek covered her station.

28/06 – 04/07
M'Nia checked up on Lek. She then gets ordered to perform some
The Security drill commenced.
Tekin defended Lorut. In orbit around the planet a space station is discovered. The Station had a docking ring, the planet it orbits is shielded form scans though.

06/07 – 10/07
The security Drill is a success.
The station adapted to Discoveries docking specifications. No armaments can be detected on it.
While approaching the Ship gets hailed by the Station and a delegation invited to the Station, which turns out to be named Erewhon. The crew grew suspicious by the stations inhabitant's knowledge of their language and databases.

11/07 – 15/07
An away team was formed to accept the invitation and board the station.
The shielding of the planet can not be broken with Discoveries technological abilities.
The Away Team assembled in the Shuttlebay. Their mission to meet and silently asses the owners of the space station.

16/07 – 20/07
The Shuttle arrived at the station, docked, and was greeted by a M Class Atmosphere. The away teams found themselves in a landing area with quantum transporters. They were welcomed by a hologram.
Cautions about the Erewhons people ability to know so much about him while they weren't able to make sense of any of their technology, the Away Team progresses.

20/07 – 24/07
Transporting to the stations main hospitality area, the away team finds themselves stripped of their gear, outfitted with enigmatic wristbands and cloaked in holo disguises. They each get greeted by holographic characters tailored to them and presented drinks.
On board the Discovery a battle drill is called and proceeded as the Ops teams tried to hack each other.
Phoenix proposed to Alexander Graham.

25/07 – 30/07
Rayek contemplated his Officers habit to drink on away missions.
The drill continued.
While waiting for a call from the Team, the Captain noticed a decrease in radiation shielding.
The away team notices their badges have been removed and prepare to split in up into pairs to cover more ground.

30/07 – 31/07
One group onboard Erewhon headed for the Library, the other for into the city. Agreeing to meet again in an hour.
On board the Discovery the radiation worsened. Red Alert is called by the Captain.
The away team managed to call in to the Bridge and report on their situation.
The away team received flip phones to call back into the ship easier.
The Team met their first alien, wearing a wristband too.

Mission Synopsis so far (2/x):

01/08 – 06/08
As the Ship moved into Crisis Mode the drill was ended prematurely.
The Cadet returned to the Ship, leading Rayek to join the Library Team.
The Teams learn that the Aliens had to book their stay here. They also witness a human being assaulted by an alien for getting some cut grass on her.
Buck called for the Away Team, hoping for a reply and to update them on their status.
The Crew on Discovery attempted to strengthen the shield. A probe is launched to analyse the stars strange radiation.

07/08 – 11/08
It became apparent that the Ships Warp Core was affected by some external factor. To prevent it from blowing, it had to be shut down.
The Away team discovers to their dismay that the holographic and human servers on the station are being mistreated by the Aliens. The Library Teams got into trouble for violation of the Stations Terms of Service.
The Probe was launched and Engineering evacuated.

11/08 – 14/08
The City teams pressed further into the holograms, trying to get more info about their level of sentience from them. They attempted to meet aliens on the station, there not as guests or entertainers.
The Ship was prepared for more radiation damage to come, with some systems of the ship malfunctioning unexplainably.
The library teams procured a copy of the Terms, to investigate in which manner they breached them and to avoid further problems. In this it is revealed that the script used to record writing here evades their perception.

15/08 – 21/08
Lorut was given Command of the Ship while the Captain investigated the radiation. He had discovered the star emitting strange exotic particles. The Warp Core finished shutting down, leaving only emergency power. Shields were still depleting.
All Engineering staff had made it safely to Alpha Engineering.
The library Team experiences further problems with the guest they are facing.
The solar probe detected a strange blip.

21/08 – 27/08
Lek decided not to go onto away missions anymore.
The Away teams tried to learn more about their respective problems, the library about the way they can get a legible version of the ToS, the city one to learn more about the station and aliens.
The library teams learned that the humans on the station are cloned.

27/08 – 03/09
Lilly positioned herself to protect Malik should it become necessary.
Lek lost his composure.  Ramort had a moral crisis upon learning that the humans are cloned but is calmed down by Lek.
The captain takes command of the ship again and has found a hint at the problem they are having, naming it a Radiation Tide.

07/09
Lorut Vila reflects upon her aspirations in the Fleet. She notes contact to the away team has been cut off.
