Early life

Leonard grew up in a small town outside of Edinburgh. He had grown up with stories of his great-great uncle Montgomery Scott. It was those stories that inspired him to join Starfleet. His path was different however. He didn't want to be bothered by working with the engines of a starship. He wanted to see what was happening first hand. He chose flight control for that very reason.

Starfleet career

Graduate, Starfleet Academy 2394

USS Athena
Scott began his career on the Athena. His first mission was shuttling crewmates back and forth to Epsilon Indi. He met Jackie and developed an instant attraction to her, but had to quickly change his feelings as she was taken. He showed off his skill and ingenuity by getting the colonists to board the shuttle in the evacuation. After that first mission, he received his promotion to ensign. It was a nice little joke the captain played on him. The next mission brought about a bit of a tough go. He had mostly successfully navigated through the blood vessels of a sentient planet. He had not anticipated a sharp turn and the ship bumped the outside wall resulting in the ship hitting the outside wall of the blood vessel and caused an injury. Following the mission, he met Cat. This woman was everything he was looking for. They started their relationship shortly after. The following mission provided an even tougher mentally. He was unable to avoid a torpedo that was fired. The resulting strike killed a few of his crewmates. He stayed at his post for the entirety of the mission half frozen with dread, half wanting to make sure it didn't happen again. After the mission was over, he was thrown against a bulkhead as the Tuscon's warp core detonated. Lt. T'Vor had relieved him at that point. After getting patched up, he and Cat spent some time together in a professional capacity to help him get over the lose of life. After that, he received orders for the temporary assignment to the Nightingale and his first official staff position. He got it to where Cat had joined the mission as well.
