SCPO Rayek tr'Lhoell
[USS Challenger - Shuttlebay]

The Captain's soft sigh - of what he thought was disappointment - was not a good sign.  Perhaps he'd misjudged in assuming the permission being granted to Abisa was transferable to him.   He waited for the Captain to mete out a suitable punishment but was surprised when instead the Vulcan apologized to him.  Rayek regarded him gap-mouthed for a moment before he nodded mutely - uncertain how to respond to the apology.

Thankfully the Captain turned the conversation to the computer core and then addressed the entire shuttle team, before they went their separate ways.  Again Rayek nodded.  "Yes sir. Hopefully so."

[Tactical Office]
While Captain Solluk headed for the Bridge, Rayek headed to the Chief Tactical office to get an Sec/Tac update on the Challenger's situation.  There, he also wrote up his away mission report.  When he finished with that, a glance at his PADD's chronometer showed how late it was. He'd been without sleep for far too long.  He marked himself as off-duty and headed to his quarters to sleep.  If something urgent occurred in the meantime, he knew would be contacted.

[NCO Quarters]
He'd check on Captain Torngate and Liz in the morning.  And Lek too.  As he drifted to sleep Rayek wondered how the Ferengi fared during his first battle from the bridge.  The Romulan smiled tiredly and yawned. He'd have to look over the bridge video feeds tomorrow and maybe give his friend some pointers.  With that thought, sleep claimed him.

Lizzie Vaughan

Sickbay

Lizzie had followed Dylan and the two Techs to Sickbay. With two guards outside the door and another two inside Sickbay, she thought that Rayak was going a little OTT. But as long as they stayed out of the way, she had already decided not to pass comment.

Getting Dylan comfortable, she performed a more thorough scan using the bio-bed than she could suing a tricorder. While still not good, the results shown were better than expected. She stepped up to the side of the bed and gave Dylan a smile.

"I need you to get some sleep." She said softly. "I can give you a sedative if you like, but I would prefer not to if you think you can sleep unaided. I will do what I can for the next few days until we reach DS9. You will then be transferred to their medical facilities. With regards to any questioning, I am putting yours on hold for at least the next 72 hours as I still have work to do before you are medically fit for that." She finished, giving her old friend a rundown of what would happen next.

NPC ShranLahr ch'Verret
[USS Challenger - Bridge]

Lahr was once more on the bridge manning tactical rather than his usual post outside Engineering - what with half the ship's sec/tac staff currently off securing the two renegade vessels.  Lahr was currently trying chat it up with the Ferengi 2nd Officer who had conn while the Captain was meeting with the incoming shuttle.

"So Sir, I hear you and the Chief are good pals.  Even doing a holonovel together? That's cool.  The guy needed a friend. He way too uptight when first got here, y'know.  Never saw him crack so much as a smile until he started hanging around you and Dr.  Vaughan."

If the Andorian was being inappropriate discussing his superior in such a personal way on the bridge, he seemed totally unaware of it.

"Speaking of the Doctor and Chief -  some of the guys and I got a pool going on as to when the Chief is gonna ask her out.  You want in on it?". He looked around the Bridge to the others.  "Anyone?"

It seemed like he might have gone on some more but the turbolift opened revealing the Captain.  The Vulcan's presence seemed to curb the young Andorian a bit.

In a lower toned voice than before he side-commented to the 2nd Officer. "We'll talk later"

Dylan Torngate

[Corridor]

He paused as he heard the Captain calling out. He didn't turn, but stopped, the guards grips tightening on his forearms.

He shook his head at the man's words. "First, Captain, don't call me sir. I lost that right," he said, his voice somber. "Secondly, you did your job. Don't apologize," he said, but his face said more. 'It is my fault' it seemed to say, though his words didn't confirm or deny. He flinched at the man's touch, barely, but all the same, it was there.

"Good luck on your hunt, Captain," he said, before leading himself to Sickbay.

[Sickbay]

Dylan was on the bio-bed, not expressly restrained but the armed guards at the door informed him that he wasn't exactly free to leave. Plus, the lack of commbadge on his chest would make it hard for him to access computer systems, doors, turbolifts, or gain access to rooms or secured levels- even though he knew the Challenger's layout like the back of his hand... including where the sensor blind spots were.

The Doctor's comforting tone did exactly nothing to reassure him. He looked at her, the humor customary to his voice suspiciously lacking. "Just do what you have to do, Doctor. Fix my head," he said, lying down on the bed. Using his arm, he plucked the four small pips on his dirty uniform off and handed them out to her. "Oh, and do me a favor and chuck these out the nearest airlock, would you mind?" he said, not waiting for an answer before he let them drop on a small table within reach and relaxing onto the bio-bed until he faded into sleep, rhythmic breathing lulling him into a dark, dreamless sleep.
