Meloth: Mother, engineer on a Bird-of-Prey, the IKS Kuvak.
Father Unknown, declared weak by Meloth.

Character Bio:
Rel'qa is a short, stocky klingon with his black hair pulled back into a braid, mainly for practical reasons. Although he is not much of a warrior in stature or deed, he is still surly and argumentative.

As a youth, he was drawn to the operations of machines, especially starships, seeing it as integral to the ability of any ship to fight. He is incredibly defensive of his job and interests, which drew the ire of other Klingon crewmen. After losing one too many fights due to his physical weakness, he realized that Starfleet would allow him to show his skills and maybe even argue without having to defend his points in combat.

Deep breaths. Focus. He knew he was not allowed to harm anyone.
Rel'qa looked at the complete mess that is meant to be the training area for potential engineers. How were they meant to keep even a shuttle moving with every tool and part scattered like they were thrown to the corners with purpose? The other cadets are unfocused and unfit to even calibrate a tricorder. They wandered the area like there's nothing they should be doing. Hoping to be bridge crew, away from the true heart of their ships, ha! They needed some discipline.
"BaQa'!"
The harsh curse drew the attention of the others, even though he knew most of them likely did not speak his mother tongue.
"We are meant to keep starships moving onward into the infinite! Why are you so complacent?"
Before anyone answers, he stood on a crate and began shouting orders, demanding an inventory and directing the other cadets to clean the workshop. Rel'qa knew he'd get in trouble for this, and it would upset the other cadets that he was bossing them around.
But if it made them pay attention, even if to spite him, it would always be worth it.
